    Hi all WebEPG users,

I would like to get everything working as good as possible for the up coming release. So I would like to call on everyone to help out a little.

    What needs to be done?

    1. All grabbers and channels need to be checked for errors in the grabbing of data
    - See test program at bottom of this post.
    - Please post all problems, I will start looking at the problems posted in the last few weeks. However, I know I'm not the only one that can write the grabber files. So I would like to call on everyone to help (even if the grabber is not one you use).

    2. New channels added, old ones removed
    - This requires a visit to the web site and a manual check if the channel list is up to date.

    3. Add/fix channel names for configuration
    - I fixed the bug stopping the names from channels.xml being displayed. So I would like some help fixing the names on channels without names. This is done with WebEPG-channels.exe.

    3. Removing double channel ids
    - Using WebEPG-channels.exe find the double channels in different grabber files and update the grabber files with the correct ids.

This is a big job because of all the grabbers and channels. However, if everyone can do a little bit it will be done quickly and 0.2.3.0 will be a great release :)

Post here which grabbers have been checked and working, so that there is no double work.

    Thanks for the help,

    /James

    Test Tool

I have got the tester program to a level where it can be used. All the features are not working yet and it may have bugs, but it can be used to test all channels for a grabber, all grabbers for a country, etc. I would suggest starting with small tests ;) It caches the data from the web site so extra tests are a lot quicker. See attached screen shot.

    How to use:

    1. It will load the grabbers if they are in the same director as the tester program under \WebEPG\grabbers. Or you can put a new location (path to and including \WebEPG but not Grabbers) in the box at the box and press scan.

    2. Once a full list of grabbers/channels is available select something to test (1 or more channels, 1 or more grabbers, everything).

    3. It will run tests getting the number of days listed (the other option in grey don't work yet).

    4. Click on the channel after the test will display the log from the test.

I will add a list of grabbers once I check them into the SVN.

V2: Fixed errors with opening log file. Window correctly resizes.
V2.1: Fixed problem starting tests when root node not at the top of window.
V3: Fixed closing xmltv file. Fixed turning cache off.

    Hi James,

I have a problem with the Australian Yahoo grabber.
The program name ends up with the rating after it.
EG: Lost - PG instead of Lost.
I tried adding the rating as an extra field but think I messed it up.
I'm at work so can't post the file now, but can when I get home if needed.

Also, just wanted to add a big thankyou for all your efforts in this area. It's a monumental task and I can't believe no one has given you a "thanks" yet.
I guess that is only a new function though...
    :)

James, I think you should add to your first post the list and update it as the progress is completing.

The DK grabber Ahot has a minor error. in the details part of the template.
Sometimes a program doesn't have a episode but it does have a original title. When this happens the original title becomes part of the genre. I have tried for the last 5 hours to fix it. Can this please be fixed?

Thanks for a great work anyway.

    Hi

I have attached an updated grabber for the GB folder.

It is 3-www_bleb_org.xml which I have done first as it is the smallest of the 3 GB grabbers for the UK.

I have attached a changelog text file. Some changes will need to be made to channels.xml but I am not sure how this will be handled taking version control into account. The full changes for GB will probably not been known until all GB grabbers are updated.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi

I have attached another updated grabber for the GB folder.

It is 1-xmltv_radiotimes_com.xml which has taken a few days to check and amend.

I have attached a text file detaling changes. The changes from this and the Bleb grabber will need to be added to channels.xml. I might look at this for these 2 grabbers at some point.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help so far.

I have made a program to test all the channels for a grabebr. See first post.

I will start checking the contributions so far and get them into the SVN soon :)
