prefered language not working

Hi,

I have problem with preffered language audio stream. All other things are working fine for me. Thx frodo.

I´m using SVN 15426. MyTV Plugin is configured to choose certain language. I´m using TT DVB-S card with CI. I think the preffered language is ignored at all for me. Can anybody confirm it is working (read the whole text pls)?

In my case it works like this: I think always the same audio stream is selected - meaning the stream at the certain position from the list of audio streams. (For example always first stream is selected. After I switch to second stream and change channel I again get the second audio stream again on newly selected chanels. The same with other chanels. If the channel does not have more then one stream the first one is selected. After chanel change always the first stream is seleceted since now on. Hope you undertand it:)).

I´m recieving UPC direct with multi language broadcasting (Czech, Slovak, Hugarian and English). Unfortunately Czech language is not always on the same position so I must select correct audio stream every chanel change. This is really not WAF compatible :). So if your language is always the first, maybe you did not noticed a problem.

BTW: Corvy has reported problem of preffered languages that it was working (around 22/7) and later he reported that it does not work again (cca week later).

Thank you for your ideas. Developres, is it wort reporting a bug or is it just my minor problem.

Gabor.

    SVN 15441:
Seeking seems to be slightly broken in timeshifted tv on my machines. (multi-seat haven't tested single seat properly).

    Procedure:
Turn on TV. Watch channel ~30 s. Seek back 15 s.
Result: Seek goes to approximately current position. Seeking WAY BACK (many clicks left) results in a successful seek to beginning of buffer. From there seeking can be done forward and backwards in small steps without incident. To me it seems like the timeline is broken.

    Regards

Zapping channels between cards (DVB-C and DVB-T) increases thread count by one (handles increases by ~20, Mem Usage by ~1 MB, and VM Size by 4 MB).
Edit: Starting and stopping .ts recording has same effect.
Edit2: Bug seems related to mpeg1 and mpeg2 audio channels, zapping between two different audio channels seems a requirement before changing to a different card seems to be a requirement for resource leak.

Test done in multiseat, but I am fairly sure bug is also present in single seat.
    SVN 15441.

Let me first say a BIG thank you to frodo for the great work with the new filter.
I've been running the new filter for a couple a weeks now and the small problems has gone away one after the other... However, I have run into problems with the timeshifting buffer.

Yesterday I paused live TV for about an hour, when returning to the TV I wanted to FF to the point in the movie a wanted to see (cskipping commercials) MP was starting to swap on the hard disk and consuming CPU eventually MP was responsive but then I was watching live TV again - not the 5 minute FF I was expecting. It took well about 1-2 minutes before I got this sad result. There was no way I could get back to where I wanted to be in the time shift buffer...

Tonight I did the same but only paused the live TV for about 30 minutes. When returning I "unpasued" and the sports I was looking at continued as expected but when I wanted to FF 15 seconds by hitting the left key MP began swapping heavily on the HD. Eventualyy it FF 15 seconds and all was well (about 30 seconds response time), tried it another time hitting the left key on the remote to skip 15 seconds it did the same (swapping and consuming CPU) but did recover and showed me TV again. But doing the same the third time crashed MP.

Here are the logs. Running single seat, SVN 15444, TVE3 SVN 15441. Cyberlink Video Decoder, Dscaler Audio Decoder and XP SP2.

I have noticed the same behaviour like pnyberg with a slightly older SVN.

    (PDVD7.3 for A & V)

when using tsreader i cannot use ffdshow as a codec for mpeg .ts playback (i.e. livetv). i can select it in the setup, but the graph will always refuse to connect to it, and load MPV instead. in graphedit i see the codec, but when trying to manually connect the tsreader video output to the video input, it fails.

i tried PowerDVD codec too, same problem. dscaler does work, but messes up aspect ratio rather badly.

edit: while i'm at it, i noticed that in BaseTSReaderPlayer.Play(string strFile) there are a few Log.Info statements starting their arguments with {1} instead of {0}, so they will never appear in the logfile.

Everything works fine, except for HDTV (e.g. ProSieben HD). The picture is stuttering.

I recognized that scenes with only a few movements are shown without any stuttering. But when there are a lot of changes and movements there is a lot of stuttering. Maybe this is related to the higher data rate for scenes with a lot of changes?

I tried PowerDVD and WinDVD codecs. They both behave the same way. CoreAVC shows no stuttering but the picture is zoomed extremely and I can only see the top left corner (10%) of the picture.

    Hi chrispi,

Interesting as I am running the new tsreader with Cyberlink PowerDVD codec for MPEG and h264 without any stuttering at all. For audio I use AC3filter.

I use SW decoding for h264 and it seems to be powerful enough to avoid stuttering.

    I use SVN 15473 (TV3) and 15467 (MP)

    /Peter

Peter: Thanks for the tipps. I tried deactivating hardware acceleration and differnt audio codes but this did not help. Maybe the problem is related to my ATI drivers... I will try a NVidia card.

ADD: I tried MultiSeat with another PC as a client (Apple Mac Pro/NVidia with Windows Professional and PowerDVD) and here I have a perfect picture without stuttering.

    HRESULT CVideoPin::CheckConnect(IPin *pReceivePin)

That method is not accepting connection the the ffdshow filter. Maybe Frodo has found out that it's not playing nicely with the TsReader (or has somee other issue). But it has been disabled by purpose.
