Alright I can confirm that I have the same issue as Ikuech has for single seat, I have audio is missing sometimes when changing channel. Running SVN 16039. I just think that its getting better... I have never missed any audio when zapping with SVN 15881 previously - if that can be of any help.

I can also confirm this problem with SVN 16043. No problem before with SVN 15898. If I turn off and back on TV everything works fine again.

    Hi all.

For me the issue is much less a show stopper since I turned on the "Avoid seeking during channel change" option of the tvplugin. Still not perfect but much better.

    Bye

    mp freezes playing .ts files

    Hi,

my search didi not give me a result.
My problem with the tsreader is, that it cant play my record .ts files.

In TV erverything seems fine, and it is workinf fast.

    MP freezes when:

.ts file is played from the beginning, and then stopped.

.ts file is not played from the beginning (it does that before, now, while creating logs this doesnt happen)

    logs attached....

    sloty

edit:just installed SVN16049. and a .tst file let mp freeze not playing from the beginning, started around 30 sec

Just thought I would give my reflections so far about TSReader vs TSfileSource:

    TSreader pros:
    1. Start time is blazing fast!
    2. Channel change is very fast as well!
    3. DVB & teletext Subs (soon perfect - thx Tourettes & ziphnor)
    4. Stop time very fast (when stopping TV).

    Cons:
    1. Seeking is not good (compared to tsfilesource)
    2. Audio issues when changing channels since SVN 15881 (or later perhaps - definitely not good with current SVNs)
    3. Recorded TV is nearly not possible to watch since seeking does not work (skip commercials etc) (better with single seat - no-no with remote client)
    4. DVB or Teletext subs crashes tsreader (buffer full).

    TsFileSource pros:
    1. Perfect seeking (IMO - haven't had a problem yet)
    2. Recorded TV is no problem what so ever.

    Cons:
    1. Slow start time (compared to tsreader)
    2. Channel change not as fast as tsreader
    3. No DVB & teletext subs
    4. Stop time takes like forever... (compared to tsreader)

Right now TSfilesource is my preffered choice just because of the seeking and recorded TV issues.

    Is there anything I've missed?

    Yes.

One of the biggest Cons for TsFileSource is the "Timeshift bug". That means after some channel changes, instead of LiveTV, the beginning of the timeshift buffer is played. I have encountered this problem very often and this was the reason for me to switch to TsReader.

TsReader worked great for me until a few days ago (maybe 2 weeks ago): With "prefer AC3" switched on (I know I shall not use it for now but as I already posted this is a mandatory feature for me and it worked okay in the past), LiveTV will crash after a few channel changes. This is 100% reproducible. Because of that, I have reinstalled MP 0.2.3 RC2 and reverted back to the SVN 15881, which works okay.

Logs could be taken if necessary but I think some other users have reported that already in the bug section...

I'm still using tsfilesource (trying tsreader from time to time) and some time ago (3 months?) I used to see that timeshift bug occasionally but its not happened in months for me

Yes, I'm with you mcraenz - I haven't come across the timeshifting bug for a long time now with tsfilesource.ax.

But still I'm not that satisified with Tsfilesource.ax - mainly because of the slow stopping (or if you will hanging/freezing MP) when you want to exit MP. I'm currently sending an "alt+f4" before suspending my PC. So when I start the PC I send the "green button" using mp tray to start MP. But when using tsfilesource MP freezes from time to time when sending "alt+f4" - but it has never happened with tsreader.

But for me right now I can't use TSReader because of the seeking problems and crasches when seeking. Because I use timeshifting quite a lot.

    Remote multiseat client crashes.

Just installed 16086 in Multi-seat environment.

I did a quick test on the server and TsReader functions as expected.
From my remote client I first tested the TSFileSource as this is what I have been using due to TsReader problems.
    TSFileSource functions as expected.
I then enabled TsReader on the remote client and tried selecting a channel to view.
MediaPortal crashed. Logs for the remote client machine are attahced.

I had one issue when installing remote client.
The tv client plugin install indicated that "DVBSub2.ax" failed to register.
I tried to uninstall / reinstall but got the same error.
This is not occur when installing the client on the server machine. :)
    Any ideas?

After disabling the TsReader on the remote client, TV again functions as expected (unfortunately this is still slow).

    :D

That's a pity. Did you try playing recorded TV with multi seat? You have no problems with audio in single seat? I will probably test for myself tonight...

Please have a look on the requirements of tve3 :)

    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/TV-Engine_0.3/requirements

Basicly the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)" is a new requirement.
