How do I get skins to start up in wide mode? (1 Viewer)

I keep having to click the button on the upper right to switch it to the wide version of the skin.

Are you talking about the maximize button?
If so, just enable in MPConfiguration, General, Start in fullscreen.

and if u want the real aspect of the skin in windowed mode, there is also an option in the config to check. something like automatic resize of skin if in window mode.
