Hi,

I just found this plugin and it's really great.

There's only one think I'd like to know:
Is there a way to change the path(s) where the fanart pictures are stored?

    I would also like to chime in on this as I have a very small C: drive and thus would like to have my fanart stored on a different drive than this one. Any help would be appreciated.

    I am interested in this, too.
    Music thumbs are not needed on the small ramdisk (my opinion) cause there is no problem if they are loaded a second later.

    Thanks.

    fanart is stored in MediaPortal's thumbs directory. This can be user defined by editing the following file:

    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortalDirs.xml

    Edit the following:
    Code:
    <!-- The Path for the Thumbs, like Music Cover Art, TV Logos, etc. -->
      <Dir id = "Thumbs">
        <Path>%ProgramData%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\</Path>
      </Dir>

    Note: there is a readme in the file with comments which describe saving the file to an alternative location...you probably should do this but its not mandatory.

    For me personally this is not the solution (I am using this file already).
    I have all the fanart/ thumbs/ etc. on my ramdisk (by changing the MPDirs.xml) but the music fanart is (in my opinion) not needed on this drive cause this fanart is changed while playing music. So you have no reason to look for the fastest solution like ram disk but for a huge space to get more than a few pictures.
    If I would change all thumbs to hdd then MovingPictures need too long to get the artwork.

    Summary:
    All thumbs *excluding* the music artwork (which is shown while playing a track) on a ramdisk (by changing MPDirs.xml)and the music thumbs on HDD.

    Is this possible?

    What's the best way to select a different backdrop? Sometimes the first selected backdrop is not great and I'd like to select another. Moving Pictures scales down the high res pictures and shrinks the filesize as well so I can't just go to fanart or themoviedb and get the images without doing some extra work to get the file right...

    In the UK, the EPG transmitted in the DVB-T datastream allows each programme to have two genres -- a primary genre, and a secondary genre (i.e. a subgenre). The primary genre might be something like Film (or Movie in the USA). The secondary genre for Film might be something like: Action, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Romance, Science...
