I am using the latest MP1.0 RC1 with the latest SVN in a client/server singleseat setup and I can confirm that Auto Commercial Skipping IS working in My TV Recordings as well as in My Videos. Manual skipping ONLY works in My Videos.

    ... in a client/server singleseat setup ...

If it's on the same machine it's not really client/server though ... we tend to call that single seat.

I meant, client on a different machine to the server... regardless of how many actual clients there are.

    Hope that clarifies it.

    Cheers,

I tried it as well and it works like you say in that auto skipping does indeed work. So for now I will leave it on auto and skip back when there is an error with the comskips detection. would be very nice to have manual working....

I've been lookin into this too for a moment and confirm chapter skipping is not working manually from TV Recordings, but autoskipping is working. Manual skipping did work though with old 2.3 + TVE3 and reason I spotted this only now when changed "production" machine to 1.0 RC1.

Anyone submitted BUG report for this comskip chapter skipping not working manually?

You probably need to set up a remote button mapped to the next chapter / previous chapter functions.

At work at the moment, so I don't have it in front of me...

    Hope that helps,

I'm using a single seat installation of MPTV Client 1.0.0.0 and I have the latest comskip installed and confirmed that it manually works...

I cannot get MP to automatically load comskip though. There is a comskip plugin in the TV server config AND in the MP config... Which one do I need to enable?

I have tried each one seperately and nothing launches either when I start a recording or when I stop. I have tested to see if the plugin launches a simple batch file and it does not.

I have left the settings as default and pointed to my comskip directory - C:\Program Files\HTPC Tools\Comskip\comskip.exe.

Apart from that, what else is needed to kick it off. I have done manual tests and don't have a problem at all with detection or use in MP. All works fine WHEN it has run, just running it doesn't seem to work.

If using TVServer, then that is the plugin to activate.

MP config\general make sure you have the use comskip to skip adverts enabled.

Manual Skipping Works Fine From Mytv|recordings

I installed v1.0 rc1 and MANUAL SKIPPING WORKS FINE FROM MYTV|RECORDINGS if you configure things properly. I suspect it may have always worked but the previous instructions were wrong OR it's been fixed in v1.rc1. I'm using tv server (tve3)

Here's what I did (tve3) (main point being that I set chapter skip for 'TVfullscreen' NOT 'Fullscreen video'!)

    1) installed comskip (download and unzip file to c:\program files\comskip - didn't alter anything (yet!)
Run 'TV Server Config' go to Plugins, tick ComSkipLauncher, then select ComSkipLauncher and set it to point to comskip.exe. Now I selected a previously recorded show and clicked Test that runs comskip and generates the txt/edl comskip files.

    2) In my remote section I followed prev instructions and set up chapter skip for my skip buttons for fullscreen video and confirmed that skipping worked with fullscreen video but like others NOT when launched from RecordedTV so I went back into my remote section and changed the chapter skip from 'Fullscreen Video' to 'TVfullscreen' and then skipping worked fine when a recording was launched from Recorded TV (thats condition=Window selection=TVfullscreen + Action=Action selection=Prev Chapter). In my case I'm using my own x10 file I created from scratch a year ago for an RF MCE remote, posted here so it's been heavily modified/improved, unsure what the MP defs are.

HOWEVER unfortunately for me though MP is jumping correctly to the times indicated in the comskip edl file the values comskip has calculated are totally wrong! :( .
I was testing using a sky broadcast that has a logo during the program that disappears during ads, so thought it would work fine. I'm about to start googling to see if this can be improved but if anyone has any insight into getting it to work well with UK Freeview terrestrial I'm all ears.

BTW the 'TV Server Config' app is locking up on me a lot. Previously used SVN from only about a month earlier and it never locked up!

---Here's my edl file (I've converted the seconds in edl file to mins:secs so I can jump to that pos in playback and see how wrong it is
    196.72 266.80 0 3:16 - 4:26
    393.76 474.48 0 6:33 - 7:54
    998.60 1167.16 0 16:38 - 19:27
    2207.68 2298.00 0 36:47 - 38:18
    3797.72 3813.40 0 63:18 - 63:33
    3948.24 3948.28 0 65:48 - 65:48

ads SHOULD BE HERE! (manual check)
    16:39 - 21:14
    41:20 - 45:56
    etc...

I had a look and I did not have those setting in the full screen TV section, I haven't tested it yet but that is probably the fix. previously that key was there by default, maybe somebody didn't think the DVD controls made sense and removed them, so I guess can some developer just add those skipping Keys back in as default please.
