Using Vista x64 and tried both the stable and the alpha version of MP, but I have no clue of how to tune the tv channels.
I have a Hauppauge Nova-T PCI card that works fine in WMC and DVBviewer.

Ok tried install the sql server first, that seems to do the trick, know im getting the sql server logon first.
But dont know my username or password for either MS sql server 2005 or my sql 5, so im pretty lost. Seems very difficult to setup i think.

    ok got it running again.
But still no TV Servers listed :(

the deploy tool should have set up sql database when you installed MP. Not sure what happened there (?)

Please post logs. Do you have SP1 installed on Vista?

Brief update... Hauppauge support responded quickly, stating that the "driver for all of our product confirm to the BDA format". Not sure what that means, but to test that, I downloaded a copy of Capture4Me, and indeed, it switches LNBs without any issues with minimal configuration (just set DiSEqC to 1.x A/B/C/D and select the...

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

Well, the log doesn't show any problems. I can see correctly tuned channels in the log. It seems to me that the tuner works fine. Can you copy the created ts file(located in your timeshift folder) somewhere else while in channel preview and try to play it in VLC or MPC-HC? PS: You can also try to make short record
