Hi Micropolis,

of course its ok. I just thought that my post has been forgotten.
The MPI file extracts only in Blu3 skin file and not in blue3wide. Perhapy you can also check this, if you have time.

Again, thank you for to my opinion one of the most useful plugins in MP !!:D

HTPCInfo plugin for MediaPortal v0.7.0

Hi m6242,
thx for the flowers ;-)
In my opinion, the mpe1 installer gives you the chance to select, in which skin directories the xml-files will be extracted.
But ok, I can check this later. The skin files you can find (hopefully) next weekend here in this thread.

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

Hi elhefe,
I don't know exactly, if you want to use the label inside the HTPCInfo windows or outside in any other window.

Here are some solutions for both parts:
  • inside: please check in windows control panel (e.g. Vista is System - System Properties - Computer Name/Domain Changes) if a correct computer name was entered here
  • outside: if you want to include HTPCInfo properties in other skin files, please switch on the option "Load property values on startup", otherwise the property values want be loaded only, if you had opened the HTPCInfo window

To check, if HTPCInfo is correctly running, please choose another property (see attached manual) and try again. If this also not works, please post more informations about HTPCInfo version, skin type, Mediaportal version and an example of the skin file.

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

you're right.
my post looked like a winny noobie.
this is what i've got:
Vista SP2 (Athlon 64 5200+ 4gb ram + 2x500gb HDs + Sapphire HD4850)
SpeedFan 4.39 installed and running ok displaying temps and all
TMP 1.0.2.0 Running perfectly.
I installed using the MP installer for background mode.
Selected both "blue" skins.
Edited myHome.xml so it looks like these now
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<window>
<id>0</id>
<defaultcontrol>50</defaultcontrol>
<allowoverlay>yes</allowoverlay>
<autohidetopbar>yes</autohidetopbar>
<controls>
<control>
<description>HTPCInfo</description>
<type>button</type>
<id>2</id>
<posX>10</posX>
<posY>10</posY>
<font>font10</font>
<label>#HTPCInfo.MachineName</label>
</control>
<control>
<description>background image</description>
<type>image</type>
<id>1</id>
<width>720</width>
<height>576</height>
</control>
<control>

(the first is what i inserted. the 2nd control is the one that was actually the first control before i inserted that)

and this is a pic of what i get. (notice the HTPC MachinName tag where it should display my pc name)

btw. my pc HAS a name.

any thoughts? im gonna give it a try both deleting anything tmp related in my pc. and also ill install everything in a Virtual machine i have to see if it works.

Thnx!

Hi elhefe,
ok, thx for your posted informations.
I had analyze your xml structure and in my opinion the error is in the following part:

<control>
<description>HTPCInfo</description>
<type>button</type>
<id>2</id>
<posX>10</posX>
<posY>10</posY>
<font>font10</font>
<label>#HTPCInfo.MachineName</label>
</control>

Please define it as type "label", not as "button" and use ID 1 instead of 2. Also please don't forget to check the configuration option "Load property values on startup".

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

Thnx for the answer.
I've got some progress yesterday.
I saw my error bout putting button instead of label.
I chose label for #HTPCInfo.MachineName
and i added 2 more, DriveCount and OSDescription.
also checked the LOAD VALUES ON STARTUP
and when i get to the myhome screen, i just dont see anything :(
dont know what could be the problem :(

Hi elhefe,
I'll check your xml code tomorrow on my development machine and give you a feedback.
Today there's no chance, sorry...

Cheers, Micropolis ;-)

Stuttering live TV because of HTPCInfo plugin!

I had problems with stuttering live TV on some channels.
Now i found out that the problem was caused by HTPCInfo plugin v0.7.0!
In detail the activated option "Monitor TV Server" produced the problem.
Additional system informations:
Single seat installation (TV Server linked to Loopback-Adapter with fixed IP)
TV Card FireDTV DVB-C

Hi zunixnuz,
is your post a question or remark? What I can do now?
If you had problems with this option, you can switch off this using the configuration dialog or check other depending configuration options. If you need it, please wait for the next release. It contains some (hopefully useful) performance improvements.

Cheers, Micropolis

is your post a question or remark?

This is a remark...
...and a hint to take a detailed look to this option so it will be optimized in next release ;)

Maybe other users have also problems with stuttering live TV and
they were not able to find out what the reason is.
