Identify option (1 Viewer)

i got so much unknow Tracks on my Backup Disk.
Is there anypoint why i shouldnt use the Identify Option?

Nope, just give it a try. Normally you get good results. At least with mainstream music.

are there collecting personal informations or somethink else?

No. For every song the first 135 seconds are used to create a Fingerprintz.
This fingerprint is then used to look it up at Musicbrainz.

There is nothiong submitted about your pc, or filename, etc.

yeah but nothink else like ip, which datas where send from which ip and so on?

I'm doing a standard HTTP request to Musicbrainz, with the fingerprint as parameter.
ofc, the people at MusicBrainz have your IP, since somehow you need to connect to the Wenbserver. right?
It's like browsing a stanfdard web page

so i dint need to worry about that they saving what prints which ip send ?

Well, if the store you ip and the fingerprint, then of course they could you trace back.
If your provider is handing out the information ,that this ip was used by you at the specific time.

But i have no idea, if they're saving connection data.
All i can tell, is that my program is not sending anything personal related.
