@stef - i was using same setup

load IR server config, allow it to restart, then close it from tray
see if that helps

hi kiwijunglist,

i tried the advise you gave stef - didn't work for me.
does anyone have an idea?

what processes/services does IRSS need to run in order to function properly?

thanks
mat

but without imon software started, these button don't work. is it possible to make irserver-suite the buttons working?

hi disaster,

i now uninstalled and re-installed your version of IRSS - not working.

what i absolutely don't understand: IRSS recognizes my iMond devices (it finds the iMon Remote, iMon Keyboard and iMon Mouse device) but at the end the iMonHidReceiver.log says
Code:
Start_HID(): Failed to get open device

unfortunately the log doesn't give a hint why the funcitons Start_HID() and Start() couldn't be executed:
Code:
2009-09-22 17:57:46.218750 - Error: Failed to start receive plugin: "iMon USB"
2009-09-22 17:57:46.218750 - Error: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: Failed to get open device
   bei IRServer.Plugin.iMonUSBReceivers.Start_HID()
   bei IRServer.Plugin.iMonUSBReceivers.Start()
   bei IRServer.IRServer.OnStart(String[] args)

enclosed you'll find the full logs.
do you have any idea what happened?
in the case you want to go deeper into it: please let me know, if you need any other information.

BTW: i also have a RF receiver for my wireless KB and mouse connected via USB (Logitech devices)

thanks,
mat

windows recognized my iMon devices as HID devices (as per device manager) and installed it's generic HID drivers automatically - thus i installed IRSS as application.
i also tried to install IRSS as a service the very first time (which didn't work) - but didn't check the logs that time...

i'm currently at work - thus i cannot check the iMon software itself right now.
but assuming that the iMon plugin of IRSS read the version correctly: version 7.63.0831 should be the one i'm using (copied from the log file i posted yesterday, which also says "DeviceDriverMode = HID" - so installing IRSS as application should have been the right choice, shouldn't it?)

    oh yorry you're right haven't noticed it. Could you please try to use normal IRSS and see if it can open your device? If it can't it must me an IRSS problem and you should post to the normal IRSS thread. I haven't changed anything regarding opening the device or something like that.

    thanks for the hint - i'll try that after i knocked off work.
    in the meantime: what exactly is the difference between YOUR version and the official version?
    • you made changes to the mini-display-DLL (might it be, that your DLL doesn't work with my VFD's firmware version?).
      where can the original version (distributed with MP 1.1.0 Beta1) be downloaded?
    • you added the XML file with containing the key mapping.
    • any other changes?
    i'm anything but a coder (i only have experience with scripting languages); however i tinker with the idea to have a look at the "official" sources - the latest SVN build's log file also stated the cc-file's lines where the error occured. it might be that i'm lucky enough to isolate the root cause of the issue and then either fix it myself or ask someone else to do so . ;-)

    thanks,
    mat

    I have nothing changed than stopping and starting irss in minidisplay atfer initialisation of VFD - so this can't be a problem.

    > * you added the XML file with containing the key mapping.
    yes

    > * any other changes?
    A lot of in irss module for MP and irss itself - to handle all IRSS buttons but nothing about opening the device or so.
