1) Run the installer application.
2) Done.

As for configuration it's pretty strait forward but:
1)Open MediaPortal Configuration.
2) Open Moving Pictures from the plugins tab.
3) Add a Import Path so Moving Pictures know where your movie is.
4) What your movies load automatically.

EDIT: If you need please more help, please feel free to ask. Is there a particular step you are having trouble with?

Okay thanks

I didn't realise that all you had to to was run the installation. For most other things I have installed for MediaPortal it wasn't that easy.

Quick question now..
Whenever I add a new movie to my directory do I have to open the MovingPictures config so the artwork, plot etc can be downloaded. Or does it do that automatically?

The only times you would require to be in the MovingPictures configuration screen after you set it all up, is to manually approve movies that failed auto-approve. If you have MediaPortal running and the MovingPictures plugin enabled, it will monitor all the import paths for changes and update accordingly.

If your filenames are English based and contain title and year, then there is a 90%+ guarantee the right movie gets auto-approved, with a minor risk the wrong one gets picked. To totally avoid that, learn how to use the NFO system (containing the IMDb-ID), or XBMC NFO system (containing more custom info), or even having the [tt....] IMDb-ID be part of the filename. In those situations you would never need the configuration screen again.

All the info and images are automatically downloaded in the background, so there might be a small delay, but it's quick enough for most users (settings, computer speed, internet speed, etc all matter then).

FYI, you can also play with these settings: show TV Server Configuration shortcut => Right-click => Properties => Compatibility => Change High DPI settings That way you don't have to change the whole scaling of Windows just for this particular application

If you’re planning to submit a pull request, let’s go through the list of issues and their solutions. I or someone from the team will create a Jira ticket, and for each ticket, you’ll make the changes and submit a pull request. This will be transparent and straightforward.

O Frabjous Joy! That seems to have done the trick. Thank you so much for your help and advice, CyberSimian. I hadn't thought of deleting the various folders, but I'll bear that in mind for any future disasters. Now I can record King & Conqueror on Sunday! Cheers Ralph
