Just a wild guess, the binaries were compiled with Visual Studio 2008 and you don't have needed DLL files.

Only VS 2005 SP1 is a requirement (that is the platform what is used to compile the direct show filters).

Is it possible to choose a different color for the subtitles? I can only change font, size, bold etc but not the color.

Yes! That was the problem. So now it works! And the Catalyst 9.1 solved the issue with the decoding error and the frame skipping! So now i have 720p and 1080p dvxa subtitles working fine! :D

    Thanks everybody for the support
    :D

Ups! I removed it accidentally from configuration window. Will bring it back...

Will mpc-hc subtitle engine ever support reading into .rar files?
Such task should probably be handled in plugin, that will extract files before play.

The linked file can be used to test the playback smoothness.
(45sec, created by virtualdub, encoded with x264 and dxva compliant profile, a 23,976 and a 25fps versions)

My opinion : with new sub engine sometimes few frames are dropped.

red5goahead I don't see any dropped frames in that clip but I'm not using DXVA (MPC Video decoder and EVR).

    Thanks for your work cpp!
However I noticed that not every movie uses the settings regarding fonts and sizes.
Font and size apply to .srt and similar types where subtitles are given as simple text. Other types have style information embedded or have bitmaps instead of text, so their style cannot be changed.
How about placing a small tip about this in MediaPortal Configuration? It might help new users :)
ffdshow has support for overriding ASS/SSA scaling. Is this something that's possible to implement in your patch?
