Interresting hardware, shame that it's not passively cool. Just looked at a couple of reviews and it looks like temps can get quite high and send the fan spinning even when just browsing.

Agree, if only it was passive which they could with lower clocks or I5 and still being plenty fast for HTPC.

I actually got one of this devices few days ago, but not for HTPC. I replaced my old PC with this small box and it is great.
The noice is really low until i start some GPU intensive game.

But it is still acceptable :)
And temperature is also fine, at last on my device.

Are different people taking turns watching the same thing on the same HTPC? For me, separating users in MP2 is a drawback, as is the interface. Simply put, this can't be done in MP1, or rather, it can't be done quickly, because everything would have to be rewritten. But if each user logs in with their own Windows account, MP1 can...

If the TV tuner works with WMC, it will work with MediaPortal to receive (and record) TV programmes that are not encrypted. MP does not support FM radio tuners, so that part of the card will not work in MP. MP can play DVD disks, and I think that it can play blu-ray, but I have no experience of the latter, so cannot comment on how...

hm, weird. it can't access the file because its in use by another process... Wonder what that other one is. Can you try excluding the recording folder of all background processes? (f.e. defender/antivirus etc, and maybe (don't know if that is even a thing) from creating thumbnails) Edit: and is it always the second time it succeeds...

Thank you for pointing out that my analysis may be less than accurate. :p Although the change to TV channel 71 may not also have been applied to the independent radio channels (different MUXes), the logs that I prepared for one of the development team does show a difference between channel 704 ("BBC Radio 4") and channel 731...

That could have been useful alternative to the CEC Remote, shame they stopped making the Harmony. I have not given up completely on the CEC Remote, there is an option to trigger putting the TV and AVR into standby when MP closes which I want to try, currently I do not have that enabled as it means both video and audio devices will be...
