Great plugin can confirm the crash happens on EVR Vista as I tried on the client pc first running xp / vmr9 no crash but instant crash on Vista box when entering live tv - dl and installed the dll and that fixed the vista crash problem.

Can the plugin detect the black border on the vertical edge of 16:9 displaying 4:3 content. One of my local sat channels is now broadcast in 16:9 and they put a vertical black border on all the original 4:3 content (I guess to preserve the aspect ratio) which I cannot seem to remove. Before everything could be stretched non linearly but currently I can only move the picture to the horizontal extremities because of the black border.

I implemented the logic to detect 4:3 content in a 16:9 picture, i have to test the latest version first, cause this implementation was lil bit heavy and I want to be sure, that nothing other is broken. If your are interested in to test the latest version feel free to pm me.

I tried this on my main HTPC the other day but I got into some issues.
The frame rendering rate of MP dropped from ~40 fps to between 10 and 20 FPS (I know the 40 is not that good either, I would rather have it sync with the tvset but can't find a solution to that so far)
I do not have this problem however on one of my clients, which uses normal desktop monitor.

To get around this again I had to uninstall the plugin and reboot xp. Without the reboot the problem was still there (so only uninstalling the plug)

I fixed this by using a different (native) resolution, 1360x768 instead of 1280x720

Just tried the latest version - works OK except that with all black-bar detection disabled (both boxes not ticked) I still get the big spikes in CPU usage - as in my previous post.

With black-bar detection disabled, what does it still do each scan interval ? - the spikes on HD material are huge (+50% CPU)

the frame grabber is still active, I changed the logic a lil bit, and maybe I can turn off the frame grabber too, when "Black Bar Detection" is disabled. At the moment it's a software design question, I'll solve this prob
