MrMario, please make all the startup annoyances OPTIONAL. Pretty please....
Maybe MP could have an option to play an intro wav/mp3 file instead while loading the splash screen. This will not take any heavy resources and it will not increase the loading time much either, but it will defently increase the user experience!

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC.
