TV-service stops

Hi,
I fund a strange thing, hopefully its just an glitch in my system..
The thing is that my tv-server-service suddenly didn’t start and when I start it manually its stops directly.
After that I uninstalled the ipimp 2.2.0 everything work again, the thing is that I have being running ipimp for about a week (great app). Has anyone else had this problem? Or do I just have some bad luck.

I've never seen this. Did you look in your TV Server logs for additional information? Can you reinstall iPiMP 2.2.0 and see if it re-occurs?

Hello,

Just wondering whether this implementation can eventually move into on-the-fly transcoding and streaming?

That is what we all pray for at night :p
Hopefully cheezey will come up with a way to do it.

PS: And For The Record support, that is important too ;)

Now that version 1.3.1 is released, perhaps cheezey has the time to take a look at the API now :)

Yes I did check the logs (unfortunately i deleted the logs) that was the thing that lead me in to the idea about that it was the ipimp. I will test it again this weekend and se if I can reproduce the error.
If so I will write a new post with the logs.

Sounds awesome that you've started working on the remote-part.

I've really been looking for this feature - particularly being able to change songs and starting and stopping music on the client since it's going to make it so much easier for me to control the HTPC under my couch :). Currently using VNC on a lappy for changing songs, and that's really not the perfect solution :)

Keep up the great work!

3.0.0 released

3.0.0 updates include

  • Web - updated administration pages to accommodate MediaPortal client remote control
  • Web - added remote control pages
  • MediaPortal client plugin - added

This update contains the first version of the remote control functions, with it you can remotely control any MediaPortal client from your iPhone from anywhere in the world Muh hah hah haaaaah. This requires a MediaPortal client process plugin to be installed in each client, this has been bundled into the installer so just run the installer and select only the client plugin to install it. Obviously you'll need to do a full upgrade of the iPiMP web server to take advantage of this.

The remote control function is in it's first release and consists of two remote control pages, the first displaying commonly used controls (e.g. left, right, stop, start, vol up vol down etc. etc.), the second page displays plugin buttons (e.g. ?MyMusic, MyTV, TV Series etc. etc.), these buttons take you directly to that plugin.

To see the remote control pages you have to be an iPiMP admin.

Screenshots below...

Enjoy!

Looks good. Just a thought: I think the buttons look nice, from a design point of view, but from a user friendlyness point of view, it can be quite hard to decipher which buttons belong to which plugin. Some of them are straightforward, but a lot of them could be some different things. Unless you have some sort of pop-up or sub-page that shows the name of the plugin and asks if this is what you want to navigate to, I think this could become confusing for some people.
I haven't tried it, so I don't know how it works in real-life, just sharing my initial thoughts.

Is it possible to alter the command sent to FFMEPG? I'd like to alter the aspect ratio of my widescreen recordings during the MP4 transcode, as everyone looks skinny and tall on my iPod touch :)
