Hello pro´s ;-)

Hm...ok, didn´t have the patience to crawl through 18 pages of this thread. Beg your pardon...

Well, all of sudden, my ipimp-server isn´t running smart anymore.
Yesterday evening everything worked fine for me. This morning I´m not able to connect to my MediaPortal client anymore, there is no display of the TV-Guide, I can´t display recordings-list and so on.

I´ve checked conditions twice (IP-adresses, ports and anything, updated client and user databases) and can´t make sense of it.
Do you?

I have no idea

Greetz,
zazh

Please read the troubleshooting section of the wiki and post some logs. Also please describe what, if anything, you can do.

At the moment I'm thinking you've come in from a heavy night on the beer and thought you'd just tweak something. ;)

Hi,

i've read a lot of pages in this topic, but can't find how to solve my problem.

Installing went well, i don't need tv server. the plugin is enabled. I can connect to the client, change users and i can make a mediaportal client.

Just when i try to connect; it says "could not connect"
I changed the port, but still nothing.

Do you have any idea?

cheers

Hello roel,
all I can say: as long as your IP-configuration is set up correctly, this dam cool thing named iPiMP is working perfectly.
To me it sounds like you have a IP-problem (as I did two days ago). So I can only say - try to check router, iPiMP-config and so on.

Good luck!

PS:
My probs two days ago were caused by changing IP of the machine MP is running on. First it was a wired LAN-connection with the desired IP. Then I switched off the cable and changed to WIFI-connection. IP changed, router was confused, so nothing worked anymore.
But after I had intimate conversation with my router, trying to help him understand what´s on my mind - well, it´s a gas *lol*

roel - Do you have a firewall in the way? Please read the troubleshooting section of the wiki and post some logs.

Yipiiieh - prob solved!
Was caused by IP-issues...

zazh05 - so it wasn't the beer after all ;) Glad it's working for you again.

    Delay after transcode

    Hi Cheezey

I have had a few hangs in MP 1.02 to do with recordings. I think it is to do with my setting of transcode imediately after the recording finishes. I have changed it to start the transcode at a specific time so will see if it helps.

It occurs when I try to delete a recording right when the recording is finishing. I do this quite often as I usually record live TV and watch it a little later so as to FWD thru the ads. Then when I have finished watching I try and delete the recording which is often right on the finish time

I like the the transcode imediatly feature but it may help to be able to add a small delay say 5mins in there to allow MP to finish its thing when a recording is manually stopped and deleted before trancode tries to start.

No relevant logs available but will try and catch it next time.

OK- I'll have a look - possibly put in a delay or catch the recording delete event and stop transcoding and allow the delete to continue.

    Hi cheezy,
I just started to use your ipimp-client plugin to control MP with TCP/IP from my own program. I managed to connect to port 55667 (the default port of ipimp-client-plugin).
When I send a message like "status, nothing", I get the desired answer. BUT if I don't disconnect afterwards but resend a message like "status, nothing", no answer is send from your plugin. I monitored it with wireshark, so I'm sure, no response message is on TCP/IP.
I looked into your source code (iPiMPClientPlugin.vb) but found nothing helpfull.
So my question is, if I have to to some "special magic" actions to send multiple commands to your plugin.
I would like to use this feature to readout the "now playing" information to show them in a LCD-Display (I know there are different plugins around, but I also would like to do some other stuff like Standbyhandling and so on)...
It would be very nice, if you have some idea how to use a continuously connected TCP-connection...
    Greetings
    Christian
