After playing around with iPiMP for a few days I am really happy to have that tool but I am missing one feature
which is controlling the mp radio via iPiMP. Do you plan to implement that?

I'm wondering: Is there anyone that has the client-server solution running?
(In other words, are there other people that have connectivity issues in a client-server environment?)

    Cheezey,
I've read the message of Rico. It gave me an idea to do an additional test. I've done a complete uninstall of both MP1.2 client and iPimp client on my client 1.
Then I've re-installed both MP1.2 single seat and iPimp 5.2 single seat.
This means I now have one client server environment and one single seat environment.

The single seat environment works perfectly (without a TV card). The iPimp server part of it detects both clients (the one from the single seat install, and the one from the client-server install). Even with a guaranteed working server I'm still unable to connect to client 2.

Thus, I think there must be a kind of networking or rights issue. I'll continue the investigation.

After playing around for a while I'm not having issues any more, so everything is fine...
But again I'm wondering how to listen to radio with iPiMP.
I mean not as a streaming device but as a remote control...

Hope this is what you're looking for:
    Playing music goes like this:
log on to ipimp with your smartphone
    select mediaportal clients
Select the client you want to remote control to play music
    select my music
search for what you want to play and play it
    (same approach for my videos)

Are you using a separate client and a separate server?

I'm using a single seat setup and what I actually meant was listening to music with the built-in radio that comes with mp.
I can stream that in the "server-section" of iPiMP but not control it in the "client section"...

    I recently installed MP 1.2.1.0 - afterwards I installed the "iPiMP 5.2.0.821 for MP 1.2.0 Beta.exe".

So far so good - but I was not able to install the "MPClientController.5.1.1.770.mpe1".
MPEInstaller says: "Dependency check error! Install Aborted!"

The details window "iPiMP remote control - Dependencies" lists an empty "General tab"; in red letters below it says: "No MediaPortal dependencies found! No Plugin dependencies found!" "Current Version: 1.1.6.27644".

Is there a version of the MPClientController for MP 1.2.1.0?
Perhaps my installation is broken in some way?

I was not finding any similar in the media portal forum so far and would really appreciate any information from the experts.

    Thanks,

    Hi loc,

thank you for pointing me to the YouTube video.

However, exactly the installation of the MPClientController is not part of this video ;-(
The installation process of iPiMP beta fpr MP 1.2 and the configuration process is shown - so it does not help me with my issue.
