I'm still doing various tests, but wanted to mention i ran into a similar problem as mentioned above. In my situation after a few days, certain channels stop working, creating errors. I double check to make sure that the provider's id= hasn't changed, which it doesn't. After re-scanning the m3u, i notice that MP assigns a new PMT and service id and of course everything starts working. I am specifically working with provider KARTINA TV.

i will do a fresh install today and update the latest filter from georgius and report back..

I really appreciate the work done by fellow members! Thank you guys. :D I love tinkering with DVBIP channels.

I have some problems getting my TV channels working, though. I´m running MP 1.1.3 on a freshly installed win7 with only SAF 5.02 installed and VLC.

It took me some weeks to finally get a half decent result with the older version of the filter nicknamed "magic". I had some stuttering but that could be caused by so many other things.

My problem: I have a .m3u file with all the udp stream addreses from my provider. It works perfectly in VLC. Every channel is runnning smoothly. In MP TV server config no channels could be found when I place the m3u in the proper folder. The m3u file was recognized under my DVBIP setup, but no channels could be found UNLESS the same channel being scanned was simultaneously being streamed in VLC player. (Don´t ask me why I tried that. :)) In that way I could scan all the channels and subsequently watch the channels in MP. I took ages - but it was a one time job. But still there were small glitches and freezing of some channels, so I was looking forward to trying the latest and greatest filter linked from this thread.

I did a fresh install of everything just to be sure and copied the filter and the other files to the right location. Now scanning in TV server setup was very, very fast. A few seconds for every channel compared to the earlier magic version I was running where it took 20-30 seconds per channel. I can still stream a channel in VLC and convince the scanning procedure that the channel exists. But when I fire up MP there is just an "unknown error" displayed and no picture or sound for every channel scanned and recognized.

Any ideas?? Which logs should I share? Sorry I am a bit of a newbie but I have tried searching the forum and bugtracking for ages and I haven´t found anything that helps me.

(I tried reverting to the magic version and I can reproduce my earlier results.)

If you were using in your test "magic" version, you should contact velis for support. If you used filter posted in first post of this thread, you should update your filter from first post of this thread. If problems still occur, attach logs as described in thread.

OK noted, thank you Stepko and georgius.

I´ll try to be more precise:

I use the filter in the first post of this thread.

Scanning for UDP channels in TV server config doesn´t work. Scanning is very fast but no channels are found.

Logfiles are included now from TV server logfolder. Only the recently updated logs. Please let me know if that is enough. MP logs are not included since it is the scanning procedure that does not work for me. I made a special m3u file with only one channel to keep the log small.

Again, I appreciate the fact that you spend time helping people.

(All the stuff about magic filter version, VLC and simultaneously scanning and viewing a channel was just to explain, that the M3U file is placed correctly, the udp stream is real and working, and I have earlier had a semiworking MP based on the old filter.)

georgius, there are so many versions of IPTVFilter, may be you can number them of any kind? Or the best way is to use the last version, because last version every time after change are committed to SVN?

There are many versions of IPTV filter (Stepko's, velis's and mine). I have removed all mine versions except last in thread maintained be me. In first post of this thread is version which can be used, but has some issues (as written in mine thread). I don't have rights to commit changes into SVN, so always with newer version I post patch for current SVN. The best way is to use version posted in mine thread - of course in case when you want support :)

AW: Re: IPTV/DVB-IP in MP: Support for http, rtp and udp

Doesn't the MP installer install the Visual C++ 2010 redistributable automatically? How is it possible to install MP without it?

Yes, there are a few different versions out there. I deleted all of my versions and try to keep the first post of this thread up to date (unfortunately it is not possible to give georigus the rights to update the version there). So you should take that version or the version in first post of the development thread.

The Team decided not to include the new filter in MP 1.2.0 RC, so it will not be added to svn before 1.2.0 is released. This is done for two reasons:
    • MP is in feature freeze (and the filter adds new features to MP)
    • there is not much time to test it and the new filter might break something
