You'll need to replace TVLibrary only when scanning channels (doesn't matter if you make clean scan or re-scanning channels). I also recommend to check Provider doesn't uniquely identify channels (detection errors) while scanning. My provider doesn't correctly identify channels and scanning without checking Provider doesn't uniquely identify channels (detection errors) is always updating one channels.

It doesn't have to be your providers fault. According to the specs there are different ways to identify a channel in dvb-ip. And MP supports only one of them (the one thats also used for dvb-t/c/s). So it might be that your provider is dvb-ip compliant but still doesn't work with MP.

Some provider send the epg data along with the stream. It is possible to use these data within the tv server, but it is a little bit complicated. You should first check if your providers embeds the epg data in the stream.

Hi.

I'm interested in knowing what are the ways providers encrypt IPTV channels and how to figure out if it is still possible to watch these channels with MePo (legally).

This is what I gathered so far:

- free (no encryption) - everything works
- decryption on STB - no way to use with MediaPortal other than with analogue card and blaster - no way to watch / record more than 1 channel
- smartcard on STB - usage of card reader module on tv server PC? - multiple channels?
- ?

Just to be clear, I'm not asking how to circumvent the protections. Just asking what can I except when I finally decide on subscribing to IPTV service of my ISP

Hi!

My IPTV provider encrypts their channels with Conax CAS5, and that works very well with MP. The original STB has a removable smart card that can be used to decrypt IPTV channels in MePo.

Do you have any experience with paid iptv providers? Based on my research Kartina.tv is one of the best in terms of quality.. what do you think or is there better?

Your las filter looks very well, but unfortunately it doesn't work under Win XP due to lack of InetPton function in ws2_32.dll, this function was introduced in Vista.

PS. Check please this quick workaround

This new version of filter works in Win XP SP3 and higher (tested in Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7). It works with MP 1.1.3 and 1.2.0 Beta. The filter was moved to Visual Studio 2010 and is set up same as other filters in SVN, so you'll probably need Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86).

TV channel logos are part of MP not TV service. I don't think that in streams are sent channels' logos.
