    Hello,

I am sure I am being a dunce with this plugin as I am having some troubles. Could you confirm which device I should be using under the IR server for the Hauppage 45 button remote?

    Thanks,
    Geeps

(and thanks for the response and!)

    geeps:

If it will work at all then it will work with the Microsoft MCE IR Server plugin.

But I know people have had problems with Hauppage remotes and IR Server Suite. I do have a solution on the drawing board, but it might still be some way off.

    Cheers,

    New Test Version Available

    Howdy folks,

A new test version of the IR Server Suite is now available for download from the first page of this thread.

Please report any bugs (even if you've reported them before).

    Cheers,

    Great!
Now I could resume my serial command testing.
Since I have added many serial and IR commands, I would like to keep all these .macro files. Is it now OK to install over previous version, or is uninstall still the prefered method?

COM port busy in test mode

Well, admit I just installed the new version above the previous....

Anyway, now I could report that the serial commands in runtime is transmitting OK.

During configuration the testing of serial commands is still not executing (COMn port un-available), so I am unable to verify the serial command in test mode.

I could not see anything in the logfile that refers to the COM port error message, but maybe you find something?

    Many thanks

    Adding new macro causes exception

    Hi, just a small one...
Adding a new macro in the MP Control plugin causes an exception.
A rather simple workaround is to copy and create new .macro files directly in the macro folder.
Attached is a copy of the text from the OS window.

Btw, I made a new clean install just to eliminate any problem with the previous version, but no change, same problem

    Hey TVmecken,

I think the reason your serial commands are not testing is because you have a plugin in MediaPortal that is using the serial port. Check the SerialUIR remote in MediaPortal configuration, even though you aren't using it it will occupy the serial port it is set to.

I'll fix the macro problem right now and post a new version.

    Thanks for the quick feedback.

    Cheers,

    Japp,
you are perfectly right. Both SerialUIR and RedEye test the availability of the port, so I had to select an unavailable port on both of them.
    Thanks

Is it possible to prevent the IR Server from transmitting certain channel-changes?

Here in South Africa we have a few free analog channels (SABC channels) as well as satellite (DSTV). Although the free channels is also included in the satellite channels, I do not want MP to view them through the STB. The decoder can only receive one channel at a time. If I record one of the free channels on MP, I still want to view another satellite channel on my TV.

At the moment, MP sends all "channel change request" to my STB. The free channels should just use the internal tuner rather than going through the STB.
