Hi, I hope that you will find some time to try and include the Hauppauge IR and blaster capability into this fine program. The reason for asking is off course:
1. I (and a lot of other people) use the Hauppauge PVR150 tv-card with the remote.
2. Now the end of the road for TV-engine 2 is coming nearer, therefore we need to try TV3, however, as far as I know only TV2 natively supports the Hauppauge remote. So I would be very happy if you could include support for this remote in the IR-Server suite.
Thanks

    Ha Aaron.

    I am sorry to inform you that your plugin crashes my entire system (bad).

    Here is what happens:
    - After testing the learned "blasts"(?), suddenly there are no blasting activity.
    - Restart: Blasting again, 5-10 times --> no blasting
    - Windows error (the "send rapport"-thingy)
    - MCE remote/keyboard not working/responding
    - Other keyboard/mice not respond
    - System freeze when trying to reboot

    Tried posting log from my HTPC, but the system get so screwed up that I had no chance... I'll try again.

    Update:
    Tried remoing an uninstalling drivers and devices, incl. MCE Replacement Driver
    - Windows error
    - "Could not connect to pipe"-> thingy

    ... got a log this time:D:

    Code:

    Can you give me your system specs? Basically, all the vital stats on your system. OS version, .net versions installed, any security perculiarities of your setup, IR device type (is it microsoft oem or did you get it with a tv card, etc..), etc...

    I'll try to figure out what's happened, and I might ask you to try a test copy for me if that's ok?

    System is XP SP2 (32-bit), all windows updates and Keyboard driver from MCE
    .NET versions: v1.0.3705, v1.1.4322, v2.0.50727, v3.0
    MP & TV3 SVN Rev15599
    MSSQL 2005 Express
    No Custom Security
    MCE Keyboard
    MCE Remote w/ V2 Receiver (Microsoft OEM)
    Not using the replacement driver
    Hauppauge PVR-500
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    Asus A8N-SLI
    2GB PC3200 RAM
    Asus nVidia 7600GS

    I used to be a .NET developer. If there's something you want me to test it's not an problem.

    Hi, I hope that you will find some time to try and include the Hauppauge IR and blaster capability into this fine program.

    I've been meaning to do it for some time, I'll look into it later this week and try to get it in there as soon as possible.

    I am sorry to inform you that your plugin crashes my entire system (bad).

    Can you provide some more log files? Maybe zip up a few and post them here, or send me a PM and I'll send you my email address.

    The log file you have given doesn't really show me anything. That's not your fault, but I was hoping you could send some more and maybe I'll see something.

    Or if Windows throws an error box on the screen maybe you could take a screen capture?

    I used to be a .NET developer. If there's something you want me to test it's not an problem.

    I'll try to put something together soon and get you to test it for me.

    Thanks.

    I am also very keen to see this hardware supported. I use GB-PVR because it has that support. But I want to come back to using MP.:D

    Aaron:
    I'll try installing it again and provide you with more log files and other error messages, but since my HTPC is frequently used by others I can not get this done right away.

    Thanks.

    Sorry Man but I give up.
    I think I will wait till you have had a chance to do up some more documentation. Most specifically around the install of the tool. I just have a feeling that I am not installing it correctly or have not opened a port or something. So I will wait patiently.

    cheers

    Sorry to hear that. But I understand. The documentation is pretty light-on. Sorry about that. I'll try to improve it in a week or so. I'll let you know when I do.

    just wandering for the next version if your able to add winlirc transmitting support?

    I'll try to get that in soon.

    <EDIT>
    Actually it's already in there, I just haven't included a way to make the IR Files it needs.
    From what I understand you can't just send the raw IR data to WinLirc, you have to send a command to tell it to blast a command it already has on file... Correct me if I'm wrong.
    So all I need to do is let the user specify what WinLirc file to blast and store that in a ".IR" file so the IR Server can deal with it... If that makes sense...

    I don't use WinLirc myself, so I'm not 100% on any of this, but if you create an XML file with a .IR extension, put it in the "ProgramData\IR Server Suite\IR Commands" (vista location) or "Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IR Server Suite\IR Commands" (xp location) folder and have it look like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <IRCommand Password="xxxxx" RemoteName="xxxxx" ButtonName="xxxxx" Repeats="xxxxx" />

    Obviously replacing the xxx's with something that makes sense (you tell me :))

    Then you should be able to use it right away, though I haven't tested it myself. In the meantime, I'll put something into the WinLirc IR Server plugin configuration that will let you create those XML files easily, and I'll try to test it too.

    </EDIT>

    Cheers,

    Aaron - Have you looked into packaging it for the install tool that dukus developed? More an more developers are using it, it seems he is adding scripting capability if needed.
