You can't use the Microsoft MCE as a transmit plugin if it is going through an IRTrans. You'd have to use IRTrans as the transmit plugin. Which it currently does not support.

I'll try to add this for you.

Did you took a look at the IRTrans transmit plugin. Is it posible to ad it to your plugin. I would be happy if you can help me with it.

Hi guys,

I don't know if this already has been mentioned.
When I resume after S3 standby using both IRServer and the Replacement plugin, I have severe navigation issues, a lot of keys on the MCE remote doesnt work - and the same dont seem to work on my MCE keyboard. I am using the 10-28 version. A known issue?

My old .IR files that I used to use with the MCE Replacement Plugin don't seem to work with IR Server. I see the blaster flash, but my TV (Sony) doesn't respond. Anyone else having the same problem? Thanks.

Blaster Problems

Hi,
First I'd like to take a moment to thank Aaron for all of his time and energy that he has devoted to this project. I don’t know how he does it and stays sane, but I can say his effort is much appreciated.

I’m hoping someone can help me with my problem. I am having trouble getting my MCE blaster to work at all in IR Server Suite.
This is my setup:
-Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
-MCE Remote and blaster (packaged with Haupauge PVR-150 MCE)
-Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250 STB
-IR Server Suite (2007-10-28 version)

Learning the commands from the Scientific Atlanta remote seems to be successful (I get a success notification and no errors in the log). However, when I try to test, nothing happens. The LED on the blaster does not even light up. I get no error in the IR Server log. I have seen these for each time I’ve tested:

I know my blaster is working as I am able to use it within Media Center with no problem.

These are my questions/concerns:
1. Do I need to install the replacement driver for the IR device? From reading on the forum and the help file it seems the answer is no.
2. Do I need to disable the HID drivers as explained in the help file for the IR Server Suite to be able to use the blaster port? I’ve tried both with and without the driver disabled with no success.
3. I’ve tried using the TV2 Blaster Plugin and using the quick setup for the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250. Still when I test, the blaster LED does not light and the set-top box does not respond. I was surprised to see that the .IR files for the Explorer 3250 seem to be in a different format than the files for the other set top boxes. The Explorer 3250 files seem to be binary rather than the typical ascii groups of 4 digits. I don’t know if that’s a problem or not.

I have spent several hours on this problem trying different things based on posts in this and other threads. I'm about ready to give up on the MCE blaster and find another solution. However, I’m hoping my problem is just something stupid I’ve done.

Any help with my issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Aaron,

I've now switched to IR Server after begin a very happy MCE Replacement Plugin user for a long time. It seems all is working well, except one function...

With MCERP the green Start button could either switch between Home and Basic Home if MP was maximized. When MP was minimized to tray and I pressed Start it would maximize again. I just can't get this to work...

I'm less concerned with switching between Home and Basic Home, but the fact I could "launch" MP from the tray was very useful. Any ideas?

I tried mapping Start to "Mprestore" but it didn't do anything. What is "Mprestore" anyway?

EDIT: Never mind, I found the problem. Hadn't deselected the "Require focus" option. Once I did it worked like a charm.

possibly lazy, but.

I am currently looking at a single requirement of it server that works with the previous plugin - I apologise if this has been covered, but it's a LONG thread... and i kinda think it's probably a quick easy fix to my problem:

Whether MP is focused or not, I want all remote commands to be sent to MP regardless of focus. Currently, I can get one command when MP is not focused, and two commands when it is (i am only testing the arrow keys currently). I have tried diabling the native MP MCE remote option, to no avail. What am i missing?

you need to either remove the mappings for the arrow keys from the plugin or disable the hidir service (this has it's own consequences and benefits so do a search for HidIr).
