    Frank,

please configure your remote as Microsoft->MCE in Harmony software.
Then select the abstract layer model in IRServer AND in MP plugin.

Let me know mappings are wrong/missing and we can fix it ;)

    Simone

    BTW, always attach logs :p

    Hi,

I am using the 2391 build of IRSS and MP1.0 with a MCE remote/blaster. Any other build of IRSS just does not work as far as IR Blasting is concerned. I have been having this weird problem with IRSS for 4 months now. The problem is that IRSS suddenly stops blasting the codes. When I go the plugin section of the TV Server Configuration, I notice that some or all of the numbers (0 to 9) do not blast when I click on the test button. I have to learn the STB IR codes once again. Once this is done all the IR blasting works fine for a few days before the problem resurfaces. I am not sure what logs I would have to include as this problem does not occur all the time but it occurs often enough to fatally hit Wife/Family Acceptance Factor. They just want a system that works. In that aspect they were spoilt by VMC.

    Some observations about my problem:
    1. When I teach the new code to the IRSS, even though it says that the code has been learnt it is not. I have to teach it 3 to 4 times before it is correctly learnt. I test this by clicking the test button and noticing the LED blink on the STB.
    2. Comparing with the previously working IR Commands with the newly learnt IR Commands, I notice that they are not exactly the same IR Codes.
    3. I taught the STB commands to Philips Pronto remote and it never fails to change the channels. This leads me to believe that there is no problem with the STB.
    4. I think I read somewhere that I can use the Pronto CCF codes in IRSS. Is this correct. I have tried using them but doesn't seem to work.

    I have a few questions.

    • [*]Why does the perfectly working IR codes suddenly stop working?
[*]Could it be that the MCE blaster that I am using is the culprit? It is not an original MS blaster but a clone.

I really want to keep MP though my family wants me to switch back to VMC. The failure of blasting the proper IR codes to the STB is the real deal breaker for me.

Can someone please help me here?

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

Hi Simone, this is what I've done under Windows XP:

    - Installed last 1.4.2 from first page
    - Copied your last dll and pcb into C:\Programmi\IR Server Suite\IR Server Plugins
    - Lauched input service configuration, selected imon usb and selected mce as hardware mode, then under advanced "abstract model"
    - Launched mp configuration, plugins -> mp control plugin for irserver, deleted mce remote, added abstract remote model pressed ok
    - COnfigured my logitech harmony as microsoft->MCE Remote

I get no key from remote in debug client and also in mediaportal. Here are my logs (it seems the remote is recognised).

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi there,

Do you get any response in the iMon software (manager) at all with the remote setup as MCE? I've tried several setups but I only get responses on the HID reciever if I configure the Harmony as an Antec Remote (which means an iMon pad i believe)...

    Hi guys!

As I neither have a MCE nor a Harmony which I could configure as MCE I cannot play with this to figure out what goes wrong.

But a couple of guys work with their iMON receiver and MCE, so there has to be a way making it work.

I would suggest the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Configure your Harmony as MCE, or simply take a MCE.
    - Shutdown Input Service or IRServer, whatever you are running.
    - Shutdown iMON Manager.
    - Start iMON Manager.
    - In iMON Manager configuration, set your remote model to MCE and click OK.
A - Try pushing some preconfigured buttons (like Mute for example), and see if iMON recognises the command (mutes the sound output).
    - If that works or not, please go on:
    - Shutdown iMON Manager.
    - Start Input Service or IRServer. (on Vista you HAVE TO use IRServer)
    - Configure the iMON plugin: remote model=MCE
    - Configure to NOT use "Abstract Remote Model"!
    - Restart Input Service or IRServer.
    - Start Debug Client and connect it.
B - Push some buttons and see if they are recognised in Debug Client.
    - Start iMON Manager (leaving Input Service or IRServer RUNNING!!)
    - In iMON Manager configuration, set your remote model to MCE and click OK, then close iMON Manager.
C - Push some buttons and see if they are recognised in Debug Client.
    - Configure IRServer or Input Service to use "Abstract Remote Model".
    - Restart IRServer or Input Service.
D - Push some buttons and see if they are recognised in Debug Client.

No mather if its working or not now (in the end of the list), please leave your test results for Positions A, B, C and D in a reply to this post, along with your iMONHidReceiver.log
With your help it will be much easier for us to figure out what goes wrong!

Hope that maybe helps in the meantime, looking forward to a perfectly working iMON HID receiver!

    Yours, belcom.

Thanks belcom will try tonight... one question only: is it normal that in input log it says:

2009-04-07 23.53.00.765625 - Debug: No Abstract Remote Tables for "iMon USB" were found

I suppose that for abstract model to work there should be a table somewhere to load, maybe I'm missing some file or the device name is not correct?!

    hey thesystemera!

I would like to help you, but I'm very very sorry, I don't know anything about your problem!

    Hey robyf!

I changed the Plugins internal name from iMON to iMON USB, to remove some conflicts with the older, original iMON plugin. This is why no abstract remote table is found.

Find the folder "IR Server Suite\Input Service\Abstract Remote Maps\iMon" and thange its name to iMon USB.
Sorry that I forgot to mention that earlier.
I will talk to chemelli to incorporate this change in the next release of IRSS.

    Yours, belcom.

After renaming the directory the abstract model files are loaded. Unfortunately I'm still not able to get any remote key in debug client.

I'm also not able to make any key of the remote work with imon manager if I set MCE as a remote in it and setting my harmony remote as MCE, so I suspect that it is not possible to use the IMON version mounted on my Thermaltake DH-101 with an MCE remote. I will maybe try with an older version of imon manager (i'm currently using the 7.40).

One question: is it possibile to use irss with imon HID configured as Imon and not as MCE?
