After renaming the directory the abstract model files are loaded. Unfortunately I'm still not able to get any remote key in debug client.

I'm also not able to make any key of the remote work with imon manager if I set MCE as a remote in it and setting my harmony remote as MCE, so I suspect that it is not possible to use the IMON version mounted on my Thermaltake DH-101 with an MCE remote. I will maybe try with an older version of imon manager (i'm currently using the 7.40).

One question: is it possibile to use irss with imon HID configured as Imon and not as MCE?

If MCE isn't recognised in iMON Manager, then it's very likely, that it won't function at all.
IRSS does NOT retrieve iMON commands through the iMON driver nor the iMON Manager but gets them directly from the hardware. So it seems that your hardware isn't able to retrieve MCE commands.

Try to configure your remote as iMON PAD, as well as setting RM200 in iMON Manager as well as in Input Service or IRServer.

please remove iMON software and install it again. Is it asking you if you have a MCE or a iMON PAD ? If so mce is supported by your hardware, if nothing is asked your receiver can work only in iMON PAD mode.

I'm pretty sure it asks if I have an MCE or and IMON PAD (or IMON MINI).

Does it make sense that I install original software (6.20) to try if it works?

I've programmed my logitech harmony as Microsoft->Windows Media Center, is it correct?

I think I've figured it out: my remote works as MCE only if I turn on frontview, otherwise no key is recognised.

As for the troubleshooting tests:


A - This works only if I turn frontview on
B - No key is recognised
C - No key is recognised
D - No key is recognised

You're right, only works with frontview enabled. Using imon v6.2.

Hi,

I am using the 2391 build of IRSS and MP1.0 with a MCE remote/blaster. Any other build of IRSS just does not work as far as IR Blasting is concerned. I have been having this weird problem with IRSS for 4 months now. The problem is that IRSS suddenly stops blasting the codes. When I go the plugin section of the TV Server Configuration, I notice that some or all of the numbers (0 to 9) do not blast when I click on the test button. I have to learn the STB IR codes once again. Once this is done all the IR blasting works fine for a few days before the problem resurfaces. I am not sure what logs I would have to include as this problem does not occur all the time but it occurs often enough to fatally hit Wife/Family Acceptance Factor. They just want a system that works. In that aspect they were spoilt by VMC.

Some observations about my problem:

1. When I teach the new code to the IRSS, even though it says that the code has been learnt it is not. I have to teach it 3 to 4 times before it is correctly learnt. I test this by clicking the test button and noticing the LED blink on the STB.
2. Comparing with the previously working IR Commands with the newly learnt IR Commands, I notice that they are not exactly the same IR Codes.
3. I taught the STB commands to Philips Pronto remote and it never fails to change the channels. This leads me to believe that there is no problem with the STB.
4. I think I read somewhere that I can use the Pronto CCF codes in IRSS. Is this correct. I have tried using them but doesn't seem to work.

I have a few questions.

  [*]Could it be that the MCE blaster that I am using is the culprit? It is not an original MS blaster but a clone.

I really want to keep MP though my family wants me to switch back to VMC. The failure of blasting the proper IR codes to the STB is the real deal breaker for me.

I have the exact same problem. MCE remote, stb, and it works at first but then stopes working. Reeboting does not help. Have had no success in fixing the issue when it happenes. Always have to reinstall everything. MP, MP tvserver and ir server suite.

Any tips would be greatfull.

After testing a bit more it seems that after a reboot i need to stop and restart the input service. BTW IM using the latest test build. Anybody know anything to do so i dont have to restart the service manualy each time?

Hey I've just done a fresh install with 1.01 and am having some weird issues.. Been using this build for a while now with no problem..

The strange thing is is that translator is working great, but the mp remote control plugin is no go? Any one..

I think I might have found the problem. It seems to be the IR Blaster. After replacing the IR Blaster, it seems to be working fine. It has been six days since I changed the IR Blaster and I have had no problems so far. I think this is the longest I have had IR blasting work without any problem.

Maybe you too should try using a different IR Blaster.

BTW, when I use my previous IR Blaster within Vista Media Center, it work fine in VMC. There seems to be something in VMC that it can handle the IR Blaster and that seems to be missing in IRSS.

I would wait for a month before I can declare that I have solved my problem.

I'm very sorry for me being so lazy the last couple of days.
I had a big server issue at a customers side.
Tomorrow everything should be back to normal and so I will restart further developement on the iMON HID plugin.

It would be very helpfull if some more of you could post their troubleshooting results!!!

I have been playing around with mediaportal for a while and have got most things sorted like different skins, moving pictures, tv series with fan art etc.
I have got freeview satellite channels tuned in through a Haupauge NOVA S card and have my SKY set top box connected to a Haupauge PVR-150
I have all the channels and guide working very well
Now I am trying to set up mediaportal to change the SKY STB when i select a channel in Mediaportal. i know I have to use IRSS with MCE and TV3 plugins.
But after trying bout 4 times I cant get them to work.

Can someone please tell me how to install these components and were to put the plugin files etc.
I have tried IRSS 1.4.2 but when I try to enter plugin setup in TV server configuration it says Error "Failed to start local comms. IR functions tempoary disabled"

My setup is Server/Client in lounge and client in bedroom. Do i need to do anything to bedroom client to make this blaster function work from there

Any help would be great as this the last thing I need to complete an awesome program setup.
