You are in the right place.

Assuming you have your AMP vol up and vol down saved as IR commands. Go into map buttons, as you did, and under My remote buttons go to Vol+. Expand the option and you will find this is where the generic vol + command is for MP. With the generic option highlighted, add a new option with the button at the bottom. Highlight this new option and move it above the generic option, this means it will be processed before the generic option, leaving that as your fall-back option. Keeping your new option highlighted: 1) select the condition you wish this to occur in DVD playing etc 2) select the action, in this case Blast IR, then select your saved IR command from the drop-down list below. 3) hit the apply button. 4) repeat for Vol-.

If the drop-down list has nothing in, you haven't saved your IR command. Go to the IR commands tab on the plug-in main screen and check to see if it is populated.

Thats exactly what Ive done, minus the adding of a new layer. I currently have in MPControlPlugin, My Remote Control, Volume +, All Layers, No Condition, Blast: vol up|Port_1 with cursor.wav

My understanding is that No Condition should mean it is done everywhere, is that correct ?

It works when I test it but I was expecting the details on the front page to be updated with what Ive just done, or for me to have to select My Remote Control over the MCE on somewhere.

Hey all -

I've been grinding the forum for the last couple days for some insight to an issue that I am having. Although I have found several others having the same issue, I haven't found a solution mentioned thus far. If I missed something, I apologize.

The issue is with the input service randomly stopping at times. I have Vista and am using an RC6 USB receiver. Per a couple suggestions I found here, I tried setting it to restart on the recovery tab. I did this yesterday morning before leaving for work. When I got home, I checked in services and the service was still running. Cool right? Wrong. The remote didn't work until I manually restarted the service.

I have found this to happen when resuming from hibernate mode as well. That isn't a big deal to me as my htpc is always on now. Just an observation.

So my questions: Is this still an known issue? Has anyone found a solution for this yet? Is it still being worked on for the release of 1.4.3?

Again, if these question have already been answered, I'm sorry I missed it. Thanks in advance for any help!! Other than this issue I LOVE the program!!

I'll post an update by the end of the week. It will fix the Vista suspend/resume bug and will have new imon config.

I'll need an imon user or two to muck around with the xml files to make the best config and then I will include those in the final version.

I appear to have fixed my problem. I ended up programming my MCE remote volume buttons with the volume buttons of my amp and then used the translator to look for those signals and convert them to blaster signals.

It works but Ive lost the volume indicator on the screen, so Ill have to think about how I can get that back.

Im sure I should be able to get it going without re-programming the remote but I couldnt work it out.

yeah, I have the same problem with my Harmony in combination with an IMON VFD (Antec 430).
The strange thing is that is happens completely at random. I can go a week without trouble and then it happens 2 times a night...
Only a restart of the Input Service solves the problem.

I hope the new update will fix this (because I'm simply too lazy to get up from the couch and get my keyboard )

Great... you mean you also fixed the problem with vista and imon pad (not recognised device)?

If you want I can assist you with your tests but I only have time in the evening CET.

Missing something obvious

With the documentation being a bit short on the ground and me being a bit slow on the uptake , may I ask a few questions about IR Server Suite 1.0.4.1?
Hopefully any answers will also help others as mentally deficient as I!

How do I get the navigation buttons to work when using the MCE remote? (I have removed the CodeSetNum entries on the machine hosting the MCE receiver)
Why does the TrayLauncher tray icon keep disappearing?
Is it TCP port 24000 that needs opening?

I am running MP in server/client mode. I have installed Input Service on the server and TrayLauncher and MP Control Plugin on the client.
TrayLauncher successfully found the Green MCE button and launches MP. Most buttons work OK.
XP SP3 on both machines, standard HID drivers. MCE Remote 1039.

So to summarise:
MP RC1 installed as dedicated server with LAN client on XP SP3 machines. Vanilla installs. CodeSetNum 0-3 removed on server registry.
IRSS Input Plugin installed on server, IRSS TrayLauncher and MP Control Plugin installed on client. Nothing else.
Firewalls down for testing (though port 24000(TCP) opened on both client and server)

What else must I do to make the TrayLauncher tray icon persistent, and to get use of the navigation buttons?

EDIT: Do I need the MCE Replacement Plugin?
I also realise this should maybe have been posted up a level, sry. Feel free to move it.
