    Hi guys,

I am getting this very weird problem.

I have Mediaportal 1.0 with latest SVN and IRSS 1.0.4.1 + and MCE Remote on XP 32bit. XP recognizes the receiver for the remote and automatically installed it as a eHome keyboard input device.

Everything works fine here, the remote works and windows responds to the key changes. However, when I configure Input Service (followed the help file) and launch translator, translator cannot see any of the remote key presses. I have tried disabling the registry keys but no go.

same here... IRSS 1.4.2 Build 2391... Philips SRM5100 with Windows XP SP3... Eventghost is working like charm, but I want to try the IR Server Suite... someone a hint?

    EDIT:
my fault... only needed replacement driver :p

Hi, I am having same problem. You could check you are on the correct tv tuner card. When you enter 'tvengine3 blaster for IRserversuite' configuration the cards are listed along the top. This is not my problem as I have set the same config on all cards just to make sure. I am beginning to wonder if it works with V1.0.
    regards Fraser.

    ok... new one:

now i do have the replacement drivers installed (tested the whole night), but after every suspend the remote won't work anymore. only a restart solves this problem.

can't find anything similar... i really like the features in server suite and think it is a great enhancement to all HTPC's, but unfortunately with this i can't go with it :(

I have posted this repeatedly here without getting a response. :(
I can't get the configuration dialog for MP Control Plugin to launch.
I have tried several versions of IRSS, now on the latest test version.
    Logs are attached.
I'd be grateful for any help, hints, ideas, troubleshooting strategies, etc.

rsbrux - I really wish I could help you, but I do not know what that error in configuration.log means.

Can I ask a few questions to eliminate some possibilities?
So you are using latest MP SVN as well as IRSS 1.4.2 build 2627?
Can you please right click properties version on the dll file in your plugin\process folder and quote the version number here.
Are you perhaps using some kind of backup/restore that replaced the newer file with older one?
Did you perhaps rename old dll file and it is still located in the plugin\process folder?

Yes, but I have had the same problem with all previous versions beginning with MP1.0 & IRSS stable releases.
Can you please right click properties version on the dll file in your plugin\process folder and quote the version number here.
    I see 2 potentially relevant DLLs in plugins\process, IrssUtils.dll & IrssComms.dll. Both have version 1.4.2.0 and date of 10 Feb. 2009
Are you perhaps using some kind of backup/restore that replaced the newer file with older one?
IIRC, I used the TV Server plugin Backup Settings to migrate from MP 0.2.3.0 to 1.0, but I don't think I have needed it since.
Did you perhaps rename old dll file and it is still located in the plugin\process folder?
Since I don't really know what DLL file(s) to look for, it would be helpful if you could enumerate them.
    Thanks for your help!

P.S. Found also MPControlPlugin.dll, same properties as the other 2. Error messages in Configuration.log suggest some problem with XML, so I attach here the 3 corresponding XML files.

Running out of ideas now :(

According to you configuration.log, we are on same MP version and SVN.
I am also on XP sp3.
Same IRSS version and same file date.

I presume your Input Service is running fine?

I see a lot of strange (to me anyway :D ) dll's loading:
    loadPlugins C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\Indy.Sockets.dll
    loadPlugins C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\Borland.Delphi.dll
    loadPlugins C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\Borland.VclRtl.dll
    etc...
Not sure what those are and if it can influence.
Would you mind taking a backup of your current installation and retry a clean MediaPortal + same SVN with ONLY IRSS 1.4.2 build 2627 installed additionally? No other plugins, No other skins.

If it fails again, attach new logs as well.

    Hi,
I have the following problem! IR Server is not working after a fresh start. I have always to restart the "Inputserver" manually. Then everything is working fine!! I am using Vista SP1 and IR Server Suite 1.4.2.0 , but I had the same problem with the 1.4.1 version.

Is there somebody else with the same problem?

    Best Regards,
    Manfred
