Is there a Plug-in for HD & Blueray playback in a supported player ?? (2 Viewers)

Hi would like media portal to Auto load a supported player like power DVD or Arcsoft when I am browsing through my HD and Blueray movies.

Is this possible ??

cant believe how dead this forum is on blueray and HD playback. I thought you would all be at it.

Nope, the problem is it is licensed software that supports Blu-Ray\HD-DVD, so as a player cannot be supported by MP.
You can choose PowerDVD7 as your chosen Movie player (or others) then that is not a problem, or you can rip them to HDD in mkv format or H.264 whichever is your chosen format, then MP can play them, with appropriate codecs.

It's a license thing, get it.

I am not looking for a player to actually play the file inside media player, All I want to do is use media player to store all my HD and blueray collection with DVD pictures etc and film info etc. when I click on the move i want to watch I want media portal to load Nero showtime which support blueray and HD playback

Surely it can load a external player to play my HD and Bluerays cant it ?. I am having a slight problem thou at the minute.


"Movie Folder" have selected the folder with all my HD movies in

"Movie Extensions" have added m2ts to the extension list and made sure all my movies end with this Carlitos Way.m2ts etc

"Movies Player" External player = Nero showtime (with HD and Blueray Plug-in) have selected Nero Showtime exe by clicking browse -Path/Filename:

I then open Media Portal and I can see the list off all my movies, when I open the movie folder thou, ie the Matrix it isnt showing any type of file in there to play. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong ??

use it this way :

1. make .iso from all ripped HD-DVD / Blu-Rays
2. get deamon tools and fastmount
3. install both
4. go into the autoplay function for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray setup the player you want for this movies
5. get the myfilms plugin for Mediaportal and configure it

With this you can handle your database for two cases :

1. you don't rip the movies, than you get a info window "please insert disc".
After you have inserted the disc because of your setup for autoplay, the player
you have set up for this kind of disc will automatically start.

2. if you have ripped movies, than you have to configurate the path to the .iso of
the movie within the moviedatabase for myfilms. Now if you chose the movie within
myfilms the .iso will be mounted because of fastmount and deamontools. This means
the inserting of a Blu-Ray or a HD-DVD will be simulated. Because of that also the
player for this discs will start and play the movie ...


But this solution is described within some threads, so using the search function would help

Hallo,
I have a lcd tv (Philips, 42PF9731/D) with a Upnp client software in it, this works fine for avi and dvd's but not with hd dvd files.

Is there any possibility or a application which will help me to play hddvd content from min pc on the tv via ip networking?

Why fastmount? Doesn't deamon tools have a mounting feature within? Or does it work better with MP this way?

Just asking as I'm looking for the best way to play HD titles as well.

The only reason for Fastmount is, it was the fastest way i got it to work

I tryed first with only deamontools and also with the MP mounting feature
in the deamontools part of the settings. But i believe it didn't work for me,
so i tested Fastmount ...
