My card seems to be the 7133.

The ID details for this card, under properties is

PCI\ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_48451403&rev_f0\3&61AAA01&0&50

But I can't figure out what i should change in the file. I don't know how to identify, in the file, which line needs to chnange. There are so many lines with the number 7133 in it. How do i know which one to change?

Can anyone walk me through this?

Thanks

I assume that the above DevID contains a typo?

It looks to me like it should read

    ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_48451043&rev_f0

If I am correct, then there are only 2 entries similar to that in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file - one for the DVB-T section and one for the Analog section of the ASUS My Cinema-P7131 Dual.

Do a "Find" for this text "ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_48451043" (without the quotes) and then change the "rev" section to match your card (from rev_d0 to rev_f0), in both entries in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file.

Then you should be in business ...

    HTH ... :)

make sure that the line ven... up to rev... is in your device id the same exact line except the &amp thingy in your capturecarddefinitions...

anyways my htpc is running now... i'll do the best i can to try and help develop and improve this program

    Hi Taipan and Supra

I found those two strings, I did what ytou said, but still no luck. You were right about the typo, but after I followed your instructions, Media Portal still says that it cannot find my media card. Any other ideas?

I first change the d0 to f0 for the strings. That did not work so I replaced the string you identified with this line:

    ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_48451403& rev_f0

That did not work, so i replaced the string that you identified, with this line

    ven_1131&dev_7133&subsys_48451403& rev_f0\3&61AAA01&0&50

Still had no luck. I replaced them in both places that the string appeared.

    Any other thoughts?

I think this is the card I have http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/TV FM CARD/Manual/e1476_tvfm.pdf

    Cal,

You shouldn't have changed the whole line - you may have introduced another typo ... :(

All that you should have done was change the letter "d" in "rev_d0" to the letter "f", so it read "rev_f0". Then it should work fine.

Do you have an unmodified, original copy of the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file that you can make that small change to?

Alternately, you may have to un-install MediaPortal and install it again so that you know that you have a "virgin" CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file to work with. I assume you are making these changes using NotePad, so that no hidden characters are being added in the editing process?

    Supra_x206 / Taipan:

Well and here we get to it - looks like ASUS gets wicked.

    ASUS MyCinema P7131 Dual
    PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7133&SUBSYS_48621043&REV_D1\4&13699180&0&4048

And changing the D1 was the only thing necessary for me.

I will redownload media portal and start again. I am very sure that i did not do any more typo's. I was very careful this time. Also, I used notepad. But I will try again and let you know. May be tomorrow before I get a chance.

    Thanks guys
