Last.fm - personalized radio streams in MediaPortal! (1 Viewer)

Here is what I was doing today....

I was listening to "local" music files, and the audioscrobbler doohickey was uploading the track info to last.fm just fine. After playing a handful of tracks, I stopped the music and entered the last.fm plugin. I tried to start a stream, but got nothing. After a couple of attempts, I got the short 1 second or so burst of music, and it stopped.

I went back to play local music again, and it is still uploading the track info just fine to last.fm. I listen to a couple of tracks to make sure everything is normal. I stop the music, go back into the last.fm plug-in, I still only get the 1 second burst. I close down MediaPortal and start it up again, enter the last.fm plugin..... and the streams play just fine.

Attached is my MP log file that logs when the problem occurs. It's at the very end of the log file.

I have been trying to get the Lastfm plugin to work for weeks now. I have downloaded the Lastfm player and tagged a whole bunch of music. When I go into the Lastfm plugin in MP it says Radio handshake failed and I can't play any streams or see any tags. Do you need to enter your Lastfm login details anywhere - and if so where?

Is it possible to add an option to randomize the streams? I love listening to Last.FM radio, but I don't do it very much anymore because I keep hearing the same songs from my "fiends".

Bram subscribers can use an option "discovery mode" which does only play tracks you haven't heard until now ;-)

There's currently no GUI option for that but it would be just a matter of minutes to add it if there was demand. Despite of 2 or 3 other users noone of the MediaPortal User's group seems to be subscriber though..

Hey, I am a subscriber! I decided to subscribe just based on the use of this plug-in, I fell so in love with it.... but it has annoyed me a bit that I seem to get a lot of repeats.

I have discovered new music for the first time in ages... I have bought 6 CDs from Amazon so far, just based on stuff I've heard on last.fm through this plugin.

The discovery mode sounds awesome. Please add it, if you can....

OK - I didn't realise they were separate programs! OK - it's working fine now. Is it possible to play an artist and then get Last.fm to play similar artists through the MP GUI? This is my favorite feature in Last.fm.

Not through the GUI but the code is finished. Quite some time ago I've asked the design team for a concept of a "multi-input-control" but they seem to be busy with other tasks at the moment.

However - I could add a simple approach first:
Type in 1 artist only and play that stream.

Just implemented the discovery mode - I didn't know I've missed it like that
