Hi Joe,

before I did the last test i had installed the port95nt 8) , only with the portdriver your program starts.

I am running here LCDhype 4.0 now and before that I had 3.9 ..... all versions worked like a charme.

Thomas,

You really give me hard times

I will do my very best , sorry for that.
Don't waste your time with my little problems, do a plugin for LCDhype

Thanks,
Thomas

I just read about your plugin and I do NOT have ANY requests whatsoever. I just felt that I should give you some credit and appriciation for all the hard work you put in. Many people have requested this and it has been on the "want to have list" for ages for many many people. Then you come along and solve that, we are all greatful for that.

I saw that you mentioned that you only seem to be fixing support for new displays, somthing that I bet must be frustrating when you much rather would like to be creative ;)

Why not just stop adding support for a while and focus on development of features? I am sure that everyone understands the need to do things you think is fun. After all only a very slow whitted person would want you to grow tired of developing things just as long as they get support for THEIR VFD before you would stop.

Just do an announcement, the coming month is new features and nothing else if that is what you want. It's way to easy that other peoples need become something that is more of a problem then help really.

    Just a quick status report.

I think I have almost a stable version that supports all LCDHype drivers.
I'm now trying to support showing the current selected menuitem among other things...

So you'll soon have a new version with some added functionallity.

    Joe,

Forgive me for what may be an already answered question. I have just picked up a number of 16x2 LCD displays which are USB powered & use the Hitachi HD44780 Controller. Is this supported by your plugin?

That is difficult to say... What kind of LCDs are they? The problem with USB displays is that there is another chip in front of the HD44780 to handle the communication via USB.

The current version of my plugin definitely doesn't support it. For the next version, please use the LCD test program (link is in first article of this thread) to test whether your display works. If it works, the next version will support it.

I, along with a few others, had a problem with the sed1520 driver resulting in only half of the display working. A fix for this was posted in the lcdhype forum, but when I replaced the sed1520.dll in the lcd test program's driver folder the problem was still there - any thoughts?

Does it work OK in LCDHype 0.40 now?
Did you try the MT-12232-A (SED1520) driver?

    I'm getting a 404.

"Why is it something so good just can't function no more?" ;)

And I'll not forget to say you've done a terrific job, a Silverstone-Imon (usb) user.

    Damn, Damn, Damn

I am sure I uploaded the correct file to my webspace this night, and now it seems to have disappeared...

Unfortunately I am at work now, and (for once) I haven't brought my sources with me, so I'm sory, but I can't put the new version back online until this evening.
