Hi Joe!

I have a 40x4-Display /w HD-Controller....Since the HD only support 2 lines, there are 2 controllers on this display.....

It seems that you already know of this alternate-light-circuit, but the only purpose of this is to use the pin 17 of parallel to switch between this 2 controllers....

What your test-program dosen't! If i enter Line 4, it writes the text in line 2!!!!

So, this is whats wrong, everything else works fine.....

    Icinger,
don't worry. LCDHype has a special driver for 4x40 HD44780 displays, but that is not implemented in my test program (yet).

That driver uses pin 17 to switch between controllers and pin 14 to control the backlight.

I'm working on a test program that supports all LCDHype drivers without me having to write a wrapper class for each of them...

    I'm not worrying........

Did you think about my proposal of using "jaLDs"?

I could also provide you /w a bit of code for that, where you don't have to think about anything hardware-related......Everything is handled by jaLCDs.....

My first goal is to release a new version of my plugin that supports all LCDHype drivers before I add any new functionality and or display types.

    We'll see after that.

I don't mean to be rude, but at this moment I only seem to be fixing problems with different display types, instead of increasing the functionality of my plugin :(

    Hi Joe,

Yes it's me bothering you again with my exotic VFD ...
Do you still plan (when you have time) to support the displays supported by the Girder plugin LCD Driver 3.7 ?

    Thanks

    Marc

    Hi Joe,

reading this brings up another idea for my SASEM USB VFD used in some Dign/Dvine/Ahanix cases before they invented iMON USB displays. Remember, I plugged the display directly to parallel instead of the converter board?

There´s a plugin for girder, too, called OnAir.dll. With this dll and LCD32 girder can show messages even on this display like using sg_vfd.dll.

Maybe it´s possible using that without the need for others to rewired back to parallel. But as I said, it´s a little bit slow and flashy. Perhaps also a timing problem?

    no_idea.

yea..it's good if i this plugin can support the usb vfd provided by dign/ahanix case.
i got all the info on how to rewired my vfd to parallel..but not dare to try it yet. if joe wants to support this vfd.. i would be very happy :D

Using the Girder plug-in API from .NET is trickier than using the LCDHype API, but I’m still trying to get it to work. Unfortunately I can’t seem to download Girder anywhere. All the links on www.girder.nl are dead.

    **EDIT**
Never mind, I found it on http://www.promixis.com/downloads.php

I hope you realize that I only intend to use the Girder plugin DLLs to communicate with your display. I do not intend to support feeding data to Girder, so Girder can display it on the display.

So Girder should not be running (or at least not be using the LCD plugin)

    Just to be clear,
