Hi JoeDalton,

My display has contrast control, then I added a slider in the setup screen.

I´m already erasing the display before shutting down.

Perhaps you wants to use my code in the "official" version of plugin.

As always, you must copy the link and paste it in the address field of your internet browser.

    Thanks jlb1234,

Of course I'm interested in your changes. Help is more than welcome...
Can you leave your code online for a couple of days?
I don't have time to look at it this evening...

    Joe

BTW, if you ever need more information about my sources, PM me your MSN account and I'll contact you...

Would it be difficult to implement for the support for the Roku VFDs?

If it uses a simple telnet connection supporting it won't be that difficult. The most difficult part will be to find the time;-)

I will certainly put it on my list.

    Joe

Joe - just wondering if you have found any time to start developing a plugin for the Roku VFDs?

    Time for a status update...

Next MP version will contain the following changes in the ExternalDisplay plugin:
    • * Fixed the Windows Clipboard driver
      * Display is cleared when MP stops the plugin
      * Added contrast slider (thanks to jlb1234)
      * Added support for translating characters your display doesn't support to others (see config file for example)
      * Added Logitech diNovo Mediapad LCD driver
      * Added Girder driver (sends generated text to Girder by raising the MPDisplayUpdated event in Girder)

For the impatient that know how to build MP from sources: these changes are already in CVS  So start testing them...

    Hi Joe,

Since you implemented the new stuff in CVS (about 2 days ago) my display won't display anything. When I go back to the cvs before you implemented it, everything works fine.

Am I the only one? Did I do something wrong?

I have the "HD44780 or compatible v1.1" connected through LPT1.

:?: That is strange... I'll have a look at it this evening...

In the meantime, check the mediaportal log file and look for ExternalDisplay. See wether there is some kind of error message that explains what is wrong.

Nope, your are not the only one, I had the same problem with the same display (Silverstone LC03V) and had to revert to the old version.

I'll check my log file when I get home (made a copy of my not working mediaportal directory so it should still be there)

Same problem here - started a couple of days ago with recent CVS builds.

Have no display on my USB IMON VFD (Silverstone LC11M). Was working perfectly before.
