    Hi JoeDalton,

with the latest CVS, when MediaPortal display a Yes/no dialog, it crashes, not answering anymore to the keyboard commands.

    Edit 03-Sept-05 Same result with 0.2.0.0 RC_1

Example: in MyVideos, I select a video to play and MediaPortal ask me Resume move to last time ? The result is a MediaPortal freeze, no keyboard or mouse response, only Ctrl-Alt-Canc to exit.

The crash occurs if I have enable the ExternalDisplay plugin with the Girder module and the Girder application is active.

In Girder I have not loaded any plugins and I have not planned any event or command (pratically none .GML file exist). :(

The crash doesn't occur if I run MediaPortal without loading Girder or if I disable ExternalDisplay and then load Girder.

    Hi Xavier,
    i have the same problem...
Do you know the last cvs that does not have this bug???

Tested with the CVS of 09-24-05 at 19:22: nothing change. :(

    Regards,
    xavier.

    Sorry, no.

But i remember the "girder-bug" appears with one of first cvs.

I have tried lots of 0.1.3 cvs, at the end I am backed at the 0.1.3 official... :(

    Regards,
    xavier.

I think I fixed the problem that caused the iMON display not to be cleared when MP shuts down.

The problem was that the Clear function did not clear the display, but only cleared the display buffer.

 You might have noticed the MP forum was down yesterday, due to a harddisk crash of the forum server. As a result some of your posts may have disappeared. Please repost any problems that don't have a(n acceptable) solution yet... I'll do my best to find one...

    Thanks!

This is the only issue I have had with the plugin. Works great!!!

Is this new version available yet or will it be in the next release of MP?

As always, fixes and updates will only be available in the next MP release...
...unless you are able to get the latest CVS sources and build everything yourself.

    Help!

Is there another way using MP with an external display? I can not install the port95 driver. It just does not install.
The iMon VFD display is working, I can use it with other apps.

MP says I need to install port95, which is not possible.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Chris, I think I already mentionned it in this thread. You can fool my plugin to think port95 is installed by creating 2 empty files.
The easiest way to do this is, is by executing the following statements on a command prompt:

:!: :!: DON'T TRY THIS IF YOU HAVE PORT95 ALREADY INSTALLED, OR YOU'LL POSSIBLY CRASH WINDOWS :!: :!:
    Code:
    copy nul %systemroot%\system32\dlportio.dll
    copy nul %systemroot%\system32\drivers\dlportio.sys

    This should do the trick...

Just some clarification: the check for the DriverLynx Port I/O Driver was put in on request by the MP master (Frodo) himself.

 But, because I got this last question a couple of times, I decided to rework this part. The current CVS version (i.e. the next MP version for most of you) will only check for the DriverLynx driver if it is needed for the chosen display type. If the driver is not detected, you will not be able to press the OK button, until you choose a display type that doesn't need the driver.

You can all remove those empty files, or uninstall the unneeded driver then

Just wanted to confirm that my imon vfd is now cleared when leaving mp (cvs from today)

    Other than that:
I think I had the funny characters problem, too. Need to test this again. Might have a look at the xml you mentioned at the weekend.

    Thanks
