jjagged: I have the same CASE as you, the Zalman HD 160, and got it to work fine here.

Contrast slider is working fine here...

I use:

- win XP pro (dutch)
- IRtrans 1.4.0.1
- DLPortIO installed
settings ExternalDisplay Configuration:

IRTrans LCD/VFD Driver v1.0
Port: localhost
Columns 16
Rows 2
Comm. Delay: 2
Contrast slider all the way up.
Backlight off
show property browser off
extensive logging off

(last 2 property and/or extensive loggin crashed MP when i tried to watch tv with my hauppage MCE 500)

Still have when I use different application's like MY NEWS within MP that the VFD is totally screwed and gives just nonsens in the display..(have to reboot then)

But when I start a movie it display's all the info..

So will test a bit more with it...

Just installed my brandnew diNovo medipad with setpoint 2.20 and 2.60, but I don't seem to get a mediapadLayer.dll. Can you tell me where the mediapadLayer.dll should be packed with ?

The MediaPadLayer.dll should be in the MediaPortal folder.
I don't own a diNovo MediaPad myself, so I can't help you with this further. I don't know what setpoint is and which version I used to develop the driver with...

I have the DiNovo and works ok with the plugin and I didn't have to add any dll...

I´ve tried a lot of things yet, but i can´t get it working.

=> Has someone a SED133x LUI_USB (windows xp prof SP2, MP 0.2 RC4) with this Plugin and see something???

hey all

recently received most of the parts for my HTPC and decided to build, got my VFD working earlier but i can't get either this or the LCD Smartie plugin to work for displaying info from mediaportal.

I have the this plugin configured as using VFD driver 1 and on the localhost port.

I have the Origen AE VFD in an X11 Case

Any help would be appreciated

EDIT: did a bit of toying around and not really sure what i did to solve it but it appears to be working fine now

i have a vfd-display VL L.I.S MCE (20x2).

Name: L.I.S MCE
Model: VL-LIS-MCE

USB/COM Port: COM3

38400bps baud / 8Bit, None Parity / 1 Stop bit

this is over USB attached. driver and application are installed. this device is hd44780 compatible.

in mp i have "external display" enable and "VL System L.I.S 2 Driver v1.0, bye Nopap" and "COM3" configured.

I get however none indicate which make I wrongly?
