Hi AllenConquest,

I like your plugin, but I have a request.
I am using a graphic LCD with 320 * 240 Pixel and I would like to use the full possibillities of the LCD. With your and Joe Daltons plugin this is not possible.
Is there a way that your plugin supports LCDHype ?
I think this is the best LCD program für graphic LCD.

Thanks for your good work.

My plugin is just for LCDSmartie. I think Joe's supports LCDHype.

Hi AllenConquest,

thanks for your quick answer.
Joe's plugin supports only LCD displays direct, with drivers from LCDhype.
I think for owners of graphic displays ther must be a way to use their LCD with all the functions the display has.
Your plugin supports LCD software and I think that it would be the right way if your plugin supports not only LCDSmartie.
Of course this is only my opinion, but maybe you think about it.
I don't know how much work it is to make your plugin supporting other LCD programms, but maybe ....

Thonks for your time.

I'll have a look at LCDHype. I@m not sure what the interface is to this program, but if it's similar to LCDSmartie then I'll make one for LCDHype as well. My plugin is not actually a MediaPortal plugin, it's a LCDSmartie plugin. It uses the External Plugin that Samuel337 maintains (and is used for other external plugins).

An update on my progress with LCDHype. I am making some headway, but it's slow. Can any you help me with the scripting language that the program uses. What is the best way to use it to display information from MP ?

Hi AllenConquest,
it's great to hear you make progress on your LCDHype-Plugin. I think LCDHype is the best way to have custom screens for any supported glcd. LCDHype can be very CPU intensive if the script isn't optimized for special sizes and controller types. The easiest way for you would be to release the plugin so others can do the scripting for their individual glcd and provide it for others. If you need help with the scripting language you can download many examples from the LCDHype forum or ask there for help. The people there are very friendly.

I'm quite happy to let others develop the scripts. However exactly what sort of output would you like from the plugin.

I'm still working out how to pass parameters to the plugin, but would the sort of things returned by the LCDSmartie plugin be what you are looking for ?

I've never tried your LCDSmartie-Plugin but what I see in the Wiki documentation is just perfect to display usefull information for myTV and myVideo. The only thing I'm missing is information from myMusic but I guess this problem is related to the External Control Plugin.
Great work. I'm looking forward to your first release.
