Hi,

Few months ago, MP had a checkbox on the skin configuration to support left to right languages...

Where is it now?

Can you add this feature back?

Thx,
Yohay

Sorry, I meant "Right to Left"

:) :)

    Nope, not using latest.
I checked the versioning system (SVN) and found the following explanation. From the explanation, it seems like an intended enhancement and not a bug. Implemented on 2007-11-17.

Final Fix for RTL Languages (Bidi Support) Private: (?)
    No
This is the Final working version of HandleRTLText
now it can handle with ()[]"" even when text contains both RTL & LTR
    languages, for example:
LTR Text (RTL Text - "LTR Text")
The code was completely rewritten based on the standard handling of RTL
    explained on : http://unicode.org/reports/tr9/

    Important Note:
standard LTR text won't be affected at all if it doesn't contains RTL text,
so you can remove this "Language Contains RTL Characters" checkbox in the
    configuration window.

I am running on the latest build and it doesn't working for me.

    1. I do not have the option to enable it on the skin configuration (like it was before. I checked the code and found on the latest build that the check-box defined as visible = false.

    2. Hebrew text (which is right to left) seen as left to right.

    3. I fixed the visible = false to visible = true and removed some remarked code on the skin configuration form, loaded the configuration and changed the value of the check-box (right to left) to true and it fixed the problem.

I assume from all of this these that it is still essential to have the check-box (that is visible = false on the current version) in order to enable right to left.

    Your assistance is mostly appreciated.

    Thx,
    Yohay

    Hi Yohay,
You mentioned a patch for the LTR hebrew problem, is it the changes to the code or something easier for the newbie to do?

BTW: regarding while lines on the screen (mentioned earlier on this thread), i had that problem with Hot cable box, and solved it by disconnecting the grounding wires from the antenna plug (the "Sikuch"), i only left the copper internal wire connected.

    msilweb,

I would not suggest that you will use the patch if you are newbie. The patch is an internal change to the code and you need to know how to compile MP and do it every time you install a new SVN build.

I suggest that you will try to talk with RTV to see how and when this will be solved.

For me it was easier to patch the system ;)

    Thx,
    Yohay

    Short Guide

    Hi Yohay,
Thanks for the fast answer, I am a newbie at MP but work in software testing so i believe ill manage. And so far MP works perfectly for me on a multiseat setup except for the annoying Hebrew problem.
Would it be too Chutspa to ask you for a brief "guide" on hot to change the code on the SVN?
For instance do i need to DL a regular SVN file and then change something in it, or find a pre compiled version and then compile it. Is there a short guide for compiling out there?

Now that i think about it ;) do you think you could put a SVN build that you already fixed on a rapidshare type solution for all us Isrealies in need?

Thanks for whatever help you can provide,
    Mark

    msilweb,

You need to be familiar with C# and SVN. If you do, you need to checkout the TV Server SVN repository and change the code on the TV Engine project.

    see: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/right_left-t33039.html for more info.

If your installation uses the same SVN, then you can replace the dll (I think it is the core.dll). If you are running different version on your installation, I suggest that you will upgrade it to the same version that you compile.

Any way ------ I think that the best way is to ask RTV how to solve this without a patch!

BTW - if you are using multi seat installation, I suggest that you will take a look in my "Media Server". It will help you with configuring the media directories and will keep them updated and synced ( https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/Plugins/Utilities/MediaServer ).

    Thx,
    Yohay

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...
