I bet this issue is caused by MediaPortal TS reader.

Caused or triggered? The bug can be in TsReader or ffdshow, as far as I know no one has ever has proven which is the broken component (or even both could be).

My bet is quite oppisite than hoborg's - I bet that ffdshow doesn't cope with the timestamp changes that TsReader is doing.

The sync problems described in this thread should only occur if you use the ffdshow video codec for LiveTV. The combination of PDVD11 + ffdshow Audio Codec should not cause this sync problem.

Agreed - many people use PDVD video + FFDShow Audio decoder for live TV (including me) - it should work OK.

Can i ask for small test?
Does the problem happend when playing recording or only on LiveTV?
If yes, can you open your recording in Graphstudio and see if desync happend here too?
Or just rename *.ts recording to *.m2ts and play it in MePo.

I bet this issue is caused by MediaPortal TS reader.
Do you mean bluebear's case (PDVD11 + ffdshow audio) or the general case in this thread (ffdshow video and audio for LiveTV/.ts files)?

Hard to say. But users report the same A/V sync issue with LAVF audio decoder too, not only with FFDshow audio decoder.

There is no such issues when MS demultiplexer is in use (in other PVR software) + FFDshow audio/video decoders - perfect sync. This pointing to Mepo TS reader.

    EDIT:
Maybe there are two issues after all.
Some users are using audio passthrough - this can be problem too.
I tell them to disable passthrough and try againg, but most of time there is no answer...

The issue with audio pass through is usually a steady discrepancy, while the issue with the ffdshow video codec in LiveTV is that it is gradually going more and more out of sync.

Both LAV and ffdshow use ffmpeg as the real work "horse". So it could be something in deeper inside ffmpeg that we trigger.

As a side note: Previously I had only heard that it is the ffdshow's video decoder that causes the issue. I myself have been using ffdshow audio decoder for few years in the live tv without issues (currently using MS one which works as good as the ffdshow one did when it comes to the A/V sync).

Yes, it should only be the ffdshow video decoder. The audio decoder in use seems to be irrelevant.

I personaly newer had any A/V desync until i tryed MePo LiveTV (MPEG2) + FFDshow Audio + Video decoder. After switching video decoder to PDVD, A/V desync was gone.

But i am not using reciever.

This problem doesn't happend with other PVR software like GB-PVR/NPVR, only in MePo.
My HTPS is GB-PVR based and i am using FFDshow Audio + Video decoders without any problem for 2 years now, alway perfect sync. And becouse GB-PVR using MS demultiplexer to split TS streams, this pointing the issue must be somewhere in MePo TS reader.
It is simple logic, that is all.
