@edterbak can you try those settings ?

The most important one is the second setting (ignore ......)
I can see in your log something related to video device removed etc.
Does it happen with watchdog (first option) ?

    @Sebastiii Hi
Just curious to know what the benefits are to checking this setting? My reason for asking is because for me, at least, when I check this setting it kills MP Auto play stone dead, which is not good.(n)

played a bit with the undersea sub (and this time with just the same lucifer files)
now i see it too but first only on the hevc file with the embeded ass subs...not with external subs

anyways, i reverted madvr back to defaults (lav also defaults-none) and changed only the madvr zoom settings..

i even can affect the placement directly...it is actually the way it should be. i guess:sneaky:

is everyone now watching lucifer now? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

To confirm. Selecting "into active video area" solves the subs underneath the miniview issue. :) Good find!!

I selected the first 3 checkboxes as your image, and deselected stop playback on removal... seb, no change in judder or behaviour.

Here is the result with those options. I also did the log in option 1 watchdog.

Switching focus off of MP > Smooth playback, Focus back on again, judder is back. o_O Im in doubt and afraid this might be a reminent of the old GPU or a dirty system. On the other hand, I do not see this judder with MPC-HC sub engine in use.

1 thing I find odd. When I start MP, the mouse pointer size is increased. Some zoom / dpi setting. But I cant find anything wrong with the settings. All is @100%.. sigh.
is there a zoom setting somewhere in MP?

    FIXED !!!! :):):):)

Judder was caused by an accidental MadVR setting.
    rendering > dithering > Error Diffusion - option 1 (=bad for iGPU)
rendering > dithering > Random Diffusion (=good for iGPU)

I dont know how, but this was selected. I did not tick it on purpose, I just noticed this as being not default.
The first number of tests with really jerky playback was with default XYsubfilter and default MadVR settings... as requested, so the core fix was needed for sure.

    To sum up:
No more jerky playback with XYsubfilters, (core update fixed this)
    No more subtitle below miniview
No more juddery playback (for me) with random diffusion.

To be sure, could you upload the core of original 1.17 pre? I want to be 100% sure you did fix something. (Im 99% confident you did)

    Great news :)
I will upload original core asap :p
Now about V297, we need regression too because where the change is done can impact other videoplayback (DVD / Blu-ray / TV) because i did the check only when XySubFilter is selected but not when it's in use.
I will try to improve the change only for video player (if it's possible)

    Here we go :)
V298 has the check to be only active for video player :p
    Core original to compare :)

So for sure V298 fix the multiple detected resolution change seeing in log but maybe those change are related to the subtitle undersea change settings too.
