I have serious problems after changing back to Black Glass skin.

The font is totally messed up, skin is unusable. The screenshot should show the TV Guide

Does Maya change anything in Black Glass skin folder ??? Blue3(wide) do still work as expected...

Please remember that MP and Config do "additional" work when changing skins - which e.g. make sure that the font cache is cleared and rebuilt. If some stupid installer just changes the skin property in MediaPortal.xml then you'll end up with crashes or a GUI looking like yours.

Deleting the whole cache folder did the trick But strange it is in any way, even if I updated Black Glass to a newer build, the garbaged screen still was the same.

Anyway, I'm happy again

If you update, the cache will still be there (if there's no installer that cleans this automagically).
Upgrading skin files always means emptying cache in the progress (again with no installer that does this)

A few days ago, I said the skin is perfect. Now I said the skin is very nice, sophisticated, but many times wasting space on screen. Mostly in My Films plug-ins. I think many people like to see the type of available subtitle and language, file parameters, and some other fields. I know, there is logo support, but those fields, like above is still missing

I say why don't you open up those xml files yourself and have a go. Maybe use amped or something as a reference (since I know it has all the fields you want, at least last time I checked)

If I was master of XML's, then I made my own skin, and publish it, but I don't know XML, and I don't want to edit XML files. I'm a user with ideas. So, if the skin has a support for more fields, than that was the default to the other peoples too, which means less custom XML skin files, and skin moddings, and standard for new plug-ins. Maybe this is the goal, isn't? Anyway I like this skin!!! I can' see, those fields, I'll check once again, the files, maybe my fault...

So what's your point? This is the second post you complain about the skin, but on the other hand say it's okay.

Bah, my English is not very well, maybe can't say what I'm think...
The skin is perfect, but need some minor change, which will be include in the next release. Example My Films plug-in. Support for more field in main screen, and the movie only screen is not so useful I think, a big picture, or fanart with a little box, with minimal info. I don't want to be a black sheep who hasn't like anything.

He's saying he like the skin a lot but has some suggestions for improving it further. And user feedback like that is a good thing. His limited English probably makes it come off harsh when he doesn't intend it that way, is all.

If you know HTML skinning for MP shouldn't be too hard. If you don't it will take you some effort to get the now the specifics (and sometime weirdness) of the skin engine (oyu will have to anyways even if you know html but then the transition is a little easier).

I see MP as open source project which means it's users should contribute to get the project thriving. Ofcourse you are not obliged to do so but showing a little effort sometimes helps to get people do some other stuff for you (as I experienced some of the luxuries that come with being an MP skinner, such as pre releases etc. Actually am a retired skinner already )

Have a weird issue with Maya - when turning on TV or a video and then returning to menus the background is black. See attached screenshots. I have tried on ati and nvidia machine - first running vista, 2nd win7 - both have the issue.

Just had a first test run with the skin on my notebook and while there are clearly some things that need polishing the overall-looks of it is amazing.

Some of the things I particularly liked:

• the "now playing" tv part and how the epg info pops up/down looks very natural and clean
• The settings menu is a great visual approach of implementing a "tab view"
• The Maya logo also looks fantastic

There are a lot of flaws but this is an early beta release after all. Do you already want people posting bugs in the forums or on the issue tracker?

Keep on the great work and this skin will be a great success as well as an important posterchild for MediaPortal.
