Ok, i think i've got it fixed. For long program titles, the scroll seems to be working properly (i.e. not one stationary and one scrolling title). I haven't had a chance to test this too much, so if there are any more errors, please let me know...thanks.

Hi Boilermaker,

I heard something about you having a real life. How do these silly rumours get started?

I was wondering if / when you'd be able to update your skin for 0.2.3. I've been almost using it with 0.2.3.0 RC1 and mytvprogram.xml is up to it's old tricks again. It doesn't show the list of upcoming episodes so it's not usable for setting up new recordings. And BlueTwo is unusable with a mouse.

Also, what's the latest official version of MCEwide? The version at the start of the thread is from January, but there have been various files posted later. For example, the Jan. version has problems with the text spacing on the weather page that I think were discussed and fixed a while back.

I've already gotten started on updating the mce1280x720 and the mceafo variation (not sure if you were asking about the bluetwo1280x720 but i no longer maintain it). I should make enough progress before the weekend to post an update. I'll clean up the links in the first thread; leaving only links to versions for mp .2.2.0 and 2.3.0 rc1.

Right now i'm going thru default MP skin files to see what is new with this release. Then i'll go thru basic screens in the mce skins making sure things work properly. I'll add the mytvprogram issue to the list of things to correct. I'm also going to add some eye candy, things like reflections in filmstrip view At that point i'll post the skin for download.

Starting next week the plan is to download some of the more popular plugins and skin those. That may take a little longer depending on how much configuring i have to do. Unfortunately i don't have the weekends to work on skinning right now, or i could get stuff done a little faster.

I wasn't asking about BlueTwo, it's just that it's the default skin that you have to start with.

One thing I've noticed in this thread is that sometimes there's confusion about what some screen is supposed to look like. Would it be reasonable for you to include screenshots of every screen so we know what you designed it to look like? Then we could compare your design to what we see. This would seperate bugs from design decisions.

One example of this is on the weather page where, on my screen, the wind speed and direction can overlap the wind static label, the current weather icon overlaps the time, and the day 0,1,2,3 general weather labels can overlap (depending on the forecast). I thought, "That can't be right. Are my fonts too big? What does his system look like?"

And a dumb question.....I've seen references to mceafo, but what is it?

I don't know about adding a screenshot for every screen (it would go well over 100 images), but i do need to add more. The one below might answer a couple of your questions...its of the mceafo variation of the skin. The bottom 1/8th of the screen is used to display the time, date, music/video screen and info and when its working overlay the weather information in each screen. You can choose which version of the skin to use; i think its the second screen you'll see when you run the installer.

Others have posted in the past about overlapping weather data, and i thought i fixed those problems. What kind of concerns me about your situation is that the wind data overlaps with the label and the time running into the weather icon, those should be far enough apart that it shouldn't happen. I'll try a few different things, but if you can post more info about your setup (mp and skin version, language, screen resolution, etc.) i can try to duplicate your issue.

Okay. Problem solved. My fonts ARE larger than yours.

I use a 51" TV as a display, but I sit far enough back that I use large fonts to make things easier on my poor old eyes. Under display settings I selected large fonts (125% of normal). It never occurred to me that the Mediaportal fonts would scale as well. I'm surprised that nothing else looks broken.

FYI, I tweaked my weather page to work with my fonts. Here's the result. I'm not suggesting you change the page to accomodate my weird fonts. I just thought you might be interested.

I'm glad you figured it out because i was stumped...the only problem with your layout is that if you have media playing, the media window will overlap with your first day's weather forecast. You can turn that off by changing the allowoverlay tag from yes to no in weather.xml.

While i'm posting, a small update. I've gone thru the music, video and weather so far and added reflections in the filmstrip view. I plan on working on my radio and mytv tonight and by tomorrow i should have enough checked over to upload something for the new MP release candidate.

I never move around while media is playing so the media window issue shouldn't be a problem.

I just noticed that if you're watching live TV and exit back to the home page with the TV still playing, Mediaportal crashes. Same with the BlueTwo Wide skin. Maybe a bug in RC1?
