i tried this . yes the MP tab shows up then unfortunately it effected nothing.

so i searched the forum and found a solution based on a member -WALTZ- . thank ya so far.

this is mine, to reinit the tv card:

    1. search for "StartOnWake" in the internet. It's a small program with an attached StartonWake.txt file which can be filled with commands from cmd.exe. unzip it and put in in the root folder of MediaPortal. write in this .txt file a command line "mprestart.bat" without quotation marks and save it.

    2.download pstools from M$ here.
unzip it an put just the "pskill.exe" in the root folder of MediaPortal. doubleclick on it an agree. ;)

    3. open a new .txt file with an editor of your choice and write the following command lines.
    pskill MediaPortal.exe
    start Mediaportal.exe

save this now as mprestart.bat and put this in your root folder of MediaPortal.

    4. put a shortcut to StartOnWake.exe in your autostart folder.

    5. enable and configure the PVR scheduler plugin in the mediaportal setup.

now each time when MP is awakened by PVR or by hibernate/standby the mprestart.bat kills and restart MP.
so it takes just a few second to record or start from hibernate.

    enjoy.

    hi,

I tried to use this tool and I have some questions about it. I'm using version 0.9.75 and MP 0.2.3.0. But in the MCE Standby tool I have no tabs labled with "Idle" and "User", so I cant make any settings there.
Any advice on what might be wrong here?

Hi, i installed MCE Standby Tool with full support for Mediaportal.
It work fine with manual standby, on resume from standby MCE Standby Tool kill Mp and restart it.

I have only a BIG problem: with MCE Standby Tool Mediaportal don't resume from standby if i scheduled a TV recorder (Powerscheduler don't work). Mp automatucally go to standby but don't resume from it.

    Why??

    Thanks
    massimo

Are you guys using TVE2 or TVE3? I am using MCE with TVE3 and Hibernation with no problems regarding wakeup for recordings.

I'm using TVE2 but thinking about a upgrade to single seat setup using TVE3.
@Work at the moment so no logs from mp + plugin to attach

EDIT: May also skip MST and make an AutoIt-script to restart mp using the tv-server config option "run at hibernate/resume"

    ...
well something else: can somebody tell me whats the different between pressing the power button on my remote ( whicj is set to standby ) and using the standby option in mp menue?? i have different reactions when using this both options

For MST there is a significant difference between those situations.

When using the remote its not the MediaPortal process that initiates the suspend. This way MST can close MediaPortal in a neat way, giving it the opportunity to finish everything it was doing.

When suspending from the MP menu its MediaPortal thats initiating the suspend. Now MP cant close because its waiting on the suspend command to be finished. This does not happen because MST is trying to close MP during the processing of this suspend command.

This situation is what we techies call a deadlock. Two processes are waiting on each other and will never come out of this.

After a timeout MST will kill MediaPortal in a less friendly way.

Is this giving you troubles? If so I can contact the MP team to figure something out. I have done a lot of testing on this, but without changes on the MP part this cannot be "fixed".

    Phew,

    Herman

Could this have anything to do with it.
When using PowerScheduler and hibernating from homescreen, maybe PowerScheduler have trouble to schedule the recording task

Did anyone find an answer to the blank screen on auto resume issue? I've looked through the thread, but didn't see an answer.

I'm having the same issue with MST installed, but no problem if it is not installed. I have also noticed the same problem if I have Girder installed and running, even if Girder is configured to do nothing at all. Specifically, if the PC automatically resumes from S3 standby (not tried S1 or hibernate) to do a recording, the screen stays black, and after 5 minutes (my idle time in Powerscheduler, although that may be a coincidence) the PC goes back into standby having done nothing. During this time I cannot connect to the PC using VNC, but if I press a key on the remote everything springs into life. Starting the PC from the power button on the front or on the remote works as expected.

I'm thinking it must be a hardware related issue - until recently I was running an elderly AMD 3500 cpu with Asus/Via mobo and an AGP ATI 1650XT, and everything worked fine (both MST and Girder). Due to the old mobo going toes-up I upgraded to a Core 2 Duo 4600 with Gigabyte/Intel P35 mobo and PCIe ATI HD2400XT, and now I'm having these blank screen problems.

    Any clues gratefully received.

Try using the "Restart MediaPortal on resume..." setting in the MP config and disable the MST's restart for MP.

After lot of debugging I noticed that only way to keep video "on" when automatically resuming is to have MP on when the resume happens ( so MST cannot be used to kill the MP when going to standby on all HW).

At the risk of sounding like a total noob, is this something that's been introduced in an SVN since 0.2.3.0 Final (which is what I'm running)? Or is it something to do with TVE3 (I'm running TVE2)?

I should also have mentioned that I have tried setting MST to NOT stop/start MP on standby/resume. It's actually the ability to regularly reboot the PC automatically that I'm most interested in at the moment
