This may or may not be helpful, but I have 2 Windows XP machines where I needed to delete MediaInfo.dll (didn't try earlier versions) to get MP to play any video. I have MP TV Series 2.5.4.1080 installed, and I think that may also be a problem since it installs a newer version also. On my one Windows Vista machine, no problems whatsoever (same video files). When I run MediaInfo by itself (the 0.7.33 GUI), also no problems.

twemperor -- I don't understand how deleting mediainfo.dll entirely would allow MP to continue. Is that what you're saying? And, YES, TV-Series uses 0.7.33 in its distribution which is (in my case) no better than 0.7.31 in the MP 1.1.0.0 RC3 & RC4. Also you are implying that a Vista machine may not be susceptable to this at all? Hmmmm.....

chemelli -- I appreciate your deleting the incomplete file! Do you have any results so far from the .rar? Have you determined whether the i386 files are 32/64 bit versions? How about the .ts file I uploaded, do you see the 0.7.30 and older working while 0.7.31 & 0.7.33 default to it as a Radio file, play its audio track and enter an error in the log - or are you finding different behavior? And does anyone know: What advantage does MP get, have, or need to use a later version of Mediainfo that some (like myself) are having issue with?

There is another thread TV show seen as radio which seems to be this RC3/RC4 issue as well...

Just asking where we're going on this as RC5's release may be approaching :)

Issue confirmed with your TS file:

2010-06-22 09:58:42.349434 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: MediaInfoWrapper.MediaInfoWrapper: unable to call external DLL - mediainfo (make sure 'MediaInfo.dll' is located in MP root dir.) Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

I'm not sure what file I'm to be using from sourceforge... the link downloads a 216K file: MediaInfo_GUI_20100607_Windows_i386_WithoutInstaller.7z

RAR doesn't know what to do with it. Do I simply change it's name to mediainfo.dll or what am I to do with that file?

OK... did a redownload on my main system, opened fine. Ran the .exe and the 'suspect' file opened in mediainfo without error. Placed the .dll into the Program Files folder and MP RC4 ran successfully! I didn't do much more than that but it seems to have fixed whatever got broken in 0.7.31 and subs. I suppose we can use this later version once the sourceforge/mediainfo guys update their release!

Thanks for the assist and writing the bug on their site! Let me know if you need me to do more...
