Probably not an issue with Mediainfo as huckster2 would concur (RC6 and 0002953: Some TS files are wrongly detected as video/radio was another issue unrelated to mediainfo), right?

Although I don't know we've got control over the SVN the guys at Mediainfo provided in response to Simone's bug report... specifically the Sourceforge bug tracker shows a status of "closed," resolution of "none," and an "8" as the priority. (Maybe someone closer to the tracker can say if that means no further action, incomplete report, or on-track to be incorporated into the next version.) Meanwhile, other common plugins like StreamedMP 1.2.0 are including TV-Series 2.5.4 which is using the officially released 0.7.33 version unwillingly replacing the SVN fix included in RC5 & RC6.

Simone - Can you look at this and see if they are waiting further dispo from you and whether the status reflects our needs as we go forward? It'd be nice to have a full version 0.7.34 for MP 1.1.0.0 - Final as well as TV-Series 2.5.5.

MediaInfo 0.7.34 is going to be released today.

About TV-Series, the devs kindly agreed in not distributing the dll anymore to avoid confusion.
Will contact Stream-MP guys as well.

If you know others distributing mediainfo.dll, please tell us. :D

This updated MediaInfo.dll fixed the problem for me, on Windows XP.

    *** edit

since this seems unrelated to MediaInfo, I have created a new thread:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...some-recorded-tv-files-play-audio-only-84488/

    ***

Did not fix it for me. What am I missing?

Some recorded TV are only played back as audio only. Same behavior for same files on all clients.

I downloaded MediaInfo 0.7.34.0. MediaInfo recognizes a video stream in the affected .ts files. I replaced the 0.7.33.0 mediainfo.dll in the MP directory with the new 0.7.34.0 version from the MediaInfo download.

Restarted MP and, ... same problem for same files.

What did I do wrong, what do I try next?

Additional info; from the logs it seems that VMR9 is never added to the graph. But this is totally predictable and depending only on the .ts file

I seem to have a similar, different problem. With the MediaInfo.dll version 0.7.33, I could not start playback of any files (or didn't wait long enough- 2 minutes?). With version 0.7.34 I do not have any problems starting playback.

However, with some codec selections I get audio only, or I get an error that the codec is not supported (when it is picking the wrong codec). For example, I will change the MPEG2 codec (but not the H.264 codec), and when I play an H.264 file get an error that the codec is not supported. I think picking the wrong codec for the filetype is a different issue and deserves another thread.
