I have changed everything as you wrote paranoid delusion,
and I have also added the fix,

After fix has been enabled then I dont get my error in the MP error log.
But I still get the error in FTR log,
05-06-2009 23:17:51 [Warning][LiveStreamAlive]: Forcing live stream to stop: 'rtsp://192.168.2.1/stream1.0' (no keep-alive was sent).

    Cheers for the feedback providers

I'm no specialist in this, but to ask a couple of basic questions that anyone who may be trying to debug this for you.

Are you using a full version of XP, have you disabled anything after installation, btw windows firewall needs to be active, I always make sure the relevant services are under the exceptions list, if not add them, if you disable it, it has been shown to still interfere with network connections, this does not happen if enabled, or are you using any other firewall, even router based.

Just trying to give as much info to the Dev's as possible :D

    Hi Paranoid

Thanks for trying to help me out.
I use Vista 32bit Danish edition with SP1 + all updates (SP2 not out yet)

I have only disabled Mediacenter services + UAC + Firewall
I will try to enable firewall now, to see if it makes any difference.

But as I wrote, MP runs without FTR.
I did not expience any problems, in the time I testet. about 30 min.

Normaly my errors come in 5 to 10 min with FTR.
    mostly 5 min.

    -------------------------
    Edit.
    Enable firewall did not help.

Tried the patch. Until now MP didn't crash, but i'm still experiencing some stability issues like MP hanging for a few minutes.

Could it be that for some reason your channel change takes sooooo long the keep-alive isn't sent in the mean time, and the server stops the stream.

But for this to be true the channel change should take (I think) around 10 seconds or more...

    I'm realy lost,
Why is it that MP without FTR can run for hours, (no problems at all, is has now been running for over 3 hours with a lot og channel changing)
But when I install FTR I get the total stops....(and offcourse the frezing)

I have also noticed, when its freezing, somtetimes it still decodes the channel in the background.
but the picture in mediaportal is frozen. (ican then press stop and start tv) then I get picture again.

I'm trying to help you, but can you answer my question? How long does a channel change take before the problem occurs?

And judging from your last comment. do you have a feeling it's the channel change itself that has failed? Is it when switching over from one card to another? Is there anything specific that could help us locate (and/or reproduce) the problem?

What happens if you run live TV from the Management Console using VLC? So take the MP client out of the picture for a moment, and see if things (always) work OK from the MMC...

Channel change takes about 4-7 sec. for SD channels.
without FTR it takes 3-5 sec.

And judging from your last comment. do you have a feeling it's the channel change itself that has failed?

I dont have the feeling that is the channel change that makes the problem, course sometimes it change channel and you can see the channel for 2-5 sec. then it stops. (with patch)

Is it when switching over from one card to another?
Nope problem comes if I just use one card.

Is there anything specific that could help us locate (and/or reproduce) the problem?
If you want, I will send a PM with IP and password so you can access the PC, I think thats the best way.

    It always work from MMC

    Thanks for helping me out.

Perhaps this is indeed not a bad idea, but I'm not sure when I will have the time. I'll try to free some time tomorrow, if that suits you.

Good to know, since this seems to indicate the problem really is a client-side issue.
