Um now I have upgraded I no longer have control of the volume, I think I was using the new patch someone made in area 51. What I would like to know why hasn't this made it to 1.2.3 since I've been using flawlessly since I tried it ??

Which patch is this? I don't see anything in area 51 related to volume control.

And did you report in area 51 that the patch was working fine?

Well, it fixes a bug for some even if it is technically a new feature. Maybe we can get this into 1.2.4. At least we could provide binaries for 1.2.3.

I really have no problem and it would be nice if we can get this in 1.2.4.
As already mentioned it seems very well tested to me and nobody reported any problems.

That issue has nothing to do with MediaPortal. I gad this as well once. Under Windows 7 you must use the legacy firewire driver for your firewire ports. If you don't, then this will happen randomly.
Another possible cause is the powersupply. One of our devs had this once. The firedtv would nolonger get the required power all the time.

Lastly, the worst case. One of my floppydtvs died 2 years ago. Dissapearing fron the devicemanager was how it started (had to reboot, unplug power and firewire si that the card would reset and work again after the next boot)

I thought it could be related to MP since there is a fix for floppydtvs :
- 0003732: [TvServer] Digital Everywhere can cause locked CAM (DieBagger) - closed.

That only fixed a bug related to paytv. I can't think of any way where MP could cause a device to dissapear in the devicemanager.
You could try to go back to 1.2.2, but it would be very odd if that would fix the issue (running 1x floppydtv-s, 1xfloppydtv-s2 and one firedtv-s2 here)

In 1.2.3 there is a BUG with relative Playlists. When you open a Playlist with relatives Track-Paths you don't see any Information abhout the track (ID-Tag) in the Now-Playing Screen. This happens with Playlists like this

Maybe it was related to yesterdays date ... Friday 13th ...

I re-installed 1.2.2 last night and got the same problem with disappearing cards (last time I saw this was when I was running Vista).
This morning I installed V1.2.3 again. And so far so good .... I have even rebooted ... and the cards are still there

So I guess it was just one of those coincidences ... both cards disappearing just after installation of a new version (and re-appearing the next day)

Please file a proper bug report, including detailed description of the problem, steps to reproduce and full logs.

Post this in a new thread in the bug reporting section of the forum.
