@Denny09: thank you for the sample files. I could reproduce the issues:
    • dvr-ms: was detected by media info, but had no valid mimetype or extension based videoplayer mapping
    • wtv: mediainfo failed to detect video streams, treated it as "not valid"
I fixed both things in my branch, so it will work for the next release :)

In audio library there is no cover art for the albums but when you select an album each song has the coverart of the album. I have checked and each album has a folder.jpg file.
Will this be implemented or am I just doing it incorrectly.
I'll put this on my todo list.

Background is following: currently "Albums" are only a distinct selection of a database attribute (AudioAspect.Album), means it has no own metadata or cover. I need to build a way to handle this.

It's a bit similar to "Series" items, the images are all delivered by FanArt service

Hi, this is all probably me doing something incorrect. I have downloaded and installed MP2 on my win 7 (32bit) laptop. I have installed both server and client. I start the server and it seems to start up OK but when I try and start the client, I get the MP2 splash screen and then it just drops back to the desktop. No error message or any other indication as to what is wrong. I installed .Net Framework 4, as it would not install until that was done.

Any thoughts you have on this are appreciated. I looked for a log file to attach but couldn't find one.

    Hi,

Good to hear that MP2 have more and more features. I want to give a try to this release but I have a question :

I run a multiseat configuration at home (3 MP1 clients and one separate TVServer). My TVServer machine is still a WinXP. My test machine is a Win7.

As MP2 still using the MP1 TvServer, is it possible to test MP2 on Win7 with a TVServer running on WinXP? I don't really want to switch my TvServer to Win7 at this time.

    Thank you.

Keep going on with your great job!

The MP2 alpha and MP1.3 alpha were released almost simultaneously, which has confused me. Are these radically different programs or is MP2 an "upgrade" of 1.3? More to the point, which version should I install (I am running Win7)?

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I scanned the forums but couldnt find an explanation.

You should install neither if u dont want alpha (very early pre-release) versions running on your pc.
These are early code releases of new builds and are not stable.
MP1 1.3Alpha is in line with the current Mediaportal you probably already use (latest stable release is 1.2.3).
MP2 summer release alpha is a completely separate application with fancy new skins. There is no stable release of MP2 yet.

What does this release do in terms of codecs? I have what I feel I need already, and they have worked fine for me in MP to date.

The summer alpha of mp2 does not contain any codecs.
I still recommend the latest lav
