You can try Plex Media Center for MAC OS X, it looks like mediaportal (streamedMP skin) and it runs HD video with no problem Plex Media Center for OS X

Another suggestion to use Plex/XBMC.

Then all thats missing is the TV Support - which is somewhere on my ToDo list - should be possible with the MP 1.1 Webservices.

Or provided you have a relativly new Apple (i.e with an Intel processor) install Windows with Boot Camp and dual boot. Best of both worlds?
