Can you describe in more detail please?
I assume installation went fine but configuration is failing.
Does it fail immediately after opening?
Or does it open fine but fail after you click on something else (maybe plugins)?
Also attach log files. Maybe there is more info in it.

I suppose you have issues with your DirectShow filters.
There seems to be a conflict between Haali and Nvidia splitters.
Try this tool to config the filters:
Download K-Lite Codec Tweak Tool 3.0.0 - Scans your system for broken filters and remove the ones that were found. - Softpedia
Uninstall Nvidia Pure video and reinstall Haali.
Use Haali and standalone MPC-HC video decoder filters.
You can find it here:
Download MPC - Homecinema from SourceForge.net
Uninstall MP and reinstall again.

I always have DVB subtitles enabled in "MP Config", but I actually switch on subtitles only for those films that have deafening sound effects and music, combined with inaudible dialogue. I have never noticed the problem that you have described, but I also use the EVR renderer, and not the Madvr renderer. So...

Every so often, when I switch to a TV channel, my MP client stops accepting user inputs, either from the remote or keyboard/mouse...
Maybe the server is/was too busy when you tried to authenticate.
I occasionally run into that too, also with the opensubtitles api I regularly get 429's... there isn't much that can be done about it, except making sure the software isn't hammering the service and having patience...

MediaPortal was working without any issue until 24 hours ago. Then it started hanging; the disk it was installed on was quite full...
