Text scroll speeds too fast.....

Also, I would like to reduce the scroll speeds a bit more now that the GUI is quicker. It seems to have made the scrolling faster too. I have both set to 1 on scroll speed but the horizontal scroll is still too fast for my liking. Is it possible to have an option for slower scroll speeds? I have tried dropping the fps rate from default 50 but the setting goes back to 50 as soon as I hit the back button. This would have been the other way I could slow the scrolling down.

Cheers,
COlin

+1

Also, if you pause video, the vertical scroll in the OSD is much faster than when you just bring up the video OSD without pausing.

Sorry for no logs, going to bed right now. Can however post logs tomorrow.

+3 - Horizontal scroll set to 1, still too fast

Your client seems to be having a problem with the music thumbs. You issue the command to back out of music, & there's a 3 min delay in the logs before it starts complaining about the thumbs. Is that M: drive path always available?

Try deleting all your music thumbs in the client config general section.

I recently had MP crash ('MediaPortal has stopped working' message box in Vista) when skipping through an MPEG-2 file playing in MyVideos (just after pressing a skip button - I can't remember if it was forward or back skip).

Logs attached.

Always get no playback of TV recordings when resuming from standby. Have to force quit MP and then load again and they'll work just fine then.

Just curious

Just curious....

I just had a look into the MP roadmap and saw that all bugs for both MP 1.0.1 and TV Server 1.0.1 are gone, only information there for version 1.0.2

Normally I would not feel so nervous (ahum) but with my three problems as listed below and no mention of them in the bug reports (or I misinterpreted something) I am very eager to receive the new version: bring on the easter bunny ;)

Will they be solved or not that is the question (at least for me)....

This is already my 5th year with MP and there was never a dull moment.
Very big thumbs up for the devs and all the testers (and of course the whole community).

regards,
Ruud.
Hello,

just changed my Mediaportal.xml to hold the following entries in the tvservice section:

no

H:\MediaPortal\Recordings

T:\

Guess what....

B. Analog TV (multiseat)
1. start TV
2. no picture
3. wait....wait.....
4. Crash of MP
5. logs attached
Works, did all kind of tests, channel switching, works perfectly, when reverting the settings in mediaportal.xml: 1st try: crash!

A. Analog Radio (multiseat)
1. start radio
2. radio start to play
3. memory usage of MP keeps rising until out of memory
4. crash of MP
5. logs attached
Same problem, although log shows that connection is now made through T: (which works for TV), memory usage increases very rapid until Mediaportal crashes. I noticed that when I press pause the memory stops increasing until I press pause again...

C. Playing Recorded TV (multiseat)
1. goto My TV
2. goto recorded tv
3. start recording
4. screen flickers and return to recorded TV menu
5. select different recording
6. same
7. exit MP
8. logs attached
Still doesn't work, but now I get an MP dialog error on screen saying: "unable to play:" <filename>, "Audio codec:" <empty>

Hope this helps narrow it down.

Also noticed that LastFM does not have a graph when playing (connect to remote graph shows no graph)?

regards,
Ruud.

M: is a mapped network drive. The server runs 24/7 and is always available. I can access it via explorer whilst I'm waiting the 3-4 mins it takes to go back to My Music main screen. I have also cleared the thumb cache which didn't solve the problem.

Any ideas?

Something worth noting....

Last.FM and Milkdrop issues have been resolved but....

1. Go to Last.FM and start a stream.
2. Activate Full-screen visuals
3. Exit Visuals...

Your stream will be interrupted when the next song comes along and the plugin will not play any further... To notice this bug quicker..

1. Go to Last.FM and start a stream.
2. Activate Full-screen visuals
3. Exit Visuals...
4. Press F9 to Love, skip or ban..

You will notice you don't have the option.. Instead you are prompted with "Start / Change Stream" and "Reload Settings"

BTW it happens if you just leave Last.FM at all

While I"m talking about Last.FM... Some things I don't get, why does it not behave like my music, you can't skip from any where else but Last.FM, it does not pass on details correctly to the VisEngine nor popular skins like StreamedMP or Blue3Wide for that matter and it does not send data to my lyrics...(though I understand this is a technical issue to do with the internal message system) Such a major plugin and one that is included for that matter with Mediaportal should be looked into a bit more, even more so considering it will be a paid service soon... RTV I know your flat out fixing so much other stuff.. Just a note... Thanks

I installed a new display adapter (ATI HD2400) and latest ATI drivers (9.4). I have Vista Ultimate.

Now live tv picture with VMR9 is pitch black, but EVR is working.

However, I would like to use VMR9 because I've not been able to get ReClock to work with EVR nicely.

Logs attached.

Btw, please consider changing date format of the SVN file name to comply with ISO 8601 (2009-04-02). Current format is very confusing. Same goes to the names of the log files.

not sure if it's the right place or maybe it should have been reported to the plugin devs instead.... but here goes...

clean install + SVN and using B&W 1080p skin (SVN), Moving-Pictures (SVN) and TV-Series (SVN), MediaPortal suddenly stops...

I can use all the native plugins like always, but when it comes to Moving-Pictures and TV-Series it stops with windows reporting "the program stopped working"...

The log doesn't seem to give a clue (not to me anyway :) ), but in the "eventlog" I can see a reference to fontengine.dll, hence why I report it here...

PS:
I removed all logs and cleared the cache before reproducing the error and then collected the logs using "MP Logs Collector"

My specs are in my profile and the left (if needed?)

DAx

Did you happen to move the 'Log' folder to a different location from the default (C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Log)? If you have moved the folder, please recreate the 'Log' folder. The problem with this is that MP is not correctly writing the 'FontEngine.log' to the directory specified in MediaPortalDirs.xml file. I recreated the 'Log' folder and everything was fine.
